Workouts on an empty stomach

Exercising on an empty stomach is usually a common beginner mistake, but this system is also popular among gym regulars. There is a belief that morning training on an empty stomach several times increase the loss of fat cells.

The mechanism can be described something like this: prolonged fasting leads to a decrease in blood sugar, as a result of which the body begins to consume its own fat deposits as fuel. And low levels of insulin, which are observed in the morning, promotes the breakdown of these fats, which increases access to them. It would seem that the explanation is not devoid of logic – the body, which has not received a dose of calories from the outside, recycles its own reserves, but in reality, not everything is so simple.

Exercising on an empty stomach burns more than just fat
Let’s try to understand in more detail. Surely everyone remembers phrases from their childhood like: “if you don’t eat, you won’t have strength, you won’t grow up, etc.” Of course, expressed by mother or grandmother, they are more like comic threats, but in every joke, as you know, there is only a fraction of a joke. Food is, first of all, the energy the body needs for normal functioning. Agree, an unfilled car will not go anywhere. Nobody convinces you to eat hamburgers for breakfast, but remember that there is a diet for every fitness program.

Yes, when training on an empty stomach, more fat cells are indeed burned, but studies show that at some point the level of fatty acids exceeds the limit of the norm that the body can process into energy, and they, turning into triglycerides, return to adipose tissue again. In addition, this way of training takes about 10% of calories burned from proteins. Agree, to lose diligently increased muscle tissue for the sake of getting rid of a few fat cells is not the most reasonable approach.

A long journey must be overcome with small steps.
If, nevertheless, this method of training seems to be the most suitable for you, or if you set out to return the ideal body as soon as possible, take note: the result obtained over a longer period allows the body to smoothly rebuild, which means that it will gradually begin to help you. And one more thing – over time, you will have to train longer and harder in order to burn at least a little more fat cells.

Remember: Nutritionists and Fitness instructors say that sports training is needed in order to add strength and health, and not to use up the last reserves of energy. And what do you think about this?
