Chicken and quail eggs in children’s diet

Eggs are a necessary product not only for children, but also for adult diets. What is so useful about them?

They contain as much as 6 grams of protein, vitamins B12 and B2, vitamin E, folic acid, zinc and iron. But, in addition to usefulness, eggs can also be a health hazard. We are talking about salmonella, which are so fond of settling in eggs and the risk of contracting salmonellosis! How to be, to refuse eggs completely, or just be careful when choosing and preparing this product.

To protect your children from salmonella infection, you need to follow a few rules:
1. When buying eggs, make sure they are not expired. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that not all manufacturers indicate the production date on the packages, so be careful. You can buy eggs in branded poultry farm stores. There, as a rule, by the evening, all the eggs are already sold out. Therefore, the risk of buying stale goods is much less, and the prices are lower!

2. Never buy cracked eggs. For no purpose. Even if you are not going to cook them for children, but just bake a cake. A large number of bacteria enter through the cracks. Don’t save! Only whole eggs, no chips, cracks, etc.

3. Wash eggs just before cooking and very thoroughly. Don’t forget where those eggs come from!

4. The better the heat treated product, the less health risk. The same applies to eggs. Young children should not be given scrambled or soft-boiled eggs at all. Just a well-steamed omelette or hard-boiled eggs.

How to distinguish stale eggs from fresh ones?
If you put an egg in a cup of water, the fresh one will sink to the bottom of the cup. The stale one will rise closer to the surface. Rotten, simply, will emerge.

Quail eggs for children
It happens that the baby does not eat eggs at all. What to do? Try offering your child quail eggs. They are so small, speckled and so unusual for a child. To get acquainted, you can simply try to count, play with them, see what’s inside, try. Meanwhile, quail eggs have a number of advantages over chicken ones:

Quail eggs contain more vitamins and less cholesterol.

– last twice as long.

– it is known that quails do not suffer from salmonellosis and quail eggs can be eaten raw.

-Not cause allergies. But in our age of children with allergies, this is a very topical issue!

In fact, the children’s body does not need so many eggs. If your baby eats a couple of chicken or 6-8 quail eggs a week, then this will be quite enough, provided that the child is well-nourished.
