5 longevity secrets from the people of Hunza

There is a place on our planet where people are happy, live longer than 100 years and know how to stay young until old age. This is not a fictional place, but a very real one, which is geographically located on the border of Pakistan and India, in the valley of the Hunza River. The people who live there are unique in many ways. They, unlike many other nationalities, do not know what cancer is, have an average life expectancy of 120 years, live and enjoy minimalism. These people live happily ever after, like in a fairy tale, although they do not have everything that in modern society is considered “attributes of success and happiness.” What are their secrets to longevity? Let’s take a look at them.

1. The predominance of a vegetarian diet.

This nation has no vegetarian beliefs. Yes, like Islamists, they refuse to eat pork and some other products. But, vegetarianism for them is partly forced. They sometimes eat animal products, but they rarely do so. The basis of their diet are fruits and wheat. Whole-grain tortillas are made from wheat, and apricots predominate from fruits in their diet. During the whole season they eat fresh, raw fruits, and for the winter they dry this product. Today you can hear a lot of advice from nutritionists that the diet should be varied, include a bunch of types of fish, meat, dairy and other products. But, as the experience of the Hunza people shows, diversity and animal products do nothing to help you become healthier and live longer. Their lives show us that the ideal diet for a long and healthy life, without the risk of developing pathologies and cancer, is vegetarianism.

2. Activity.

Residents of the Hunza Valley do not use public transport. But, they do this not only because they are supporters of an active lifestyle and love movement. They do not have such an opportunity to overcome the necessary distances on wheels, and therefore prefer to move on foot. These people in the season, almost daily climb the mountains, actively participate in the harvest. They love dancing and having fun. Such activity cannot help but contribute to the health of the body, which is why they live so long without knowing many diseases and sorrows.

3. Positive attitude.

merry fellows, optimistic people who never lose heart and know how to rejoice in what they have, always live longer than others. Hunza has such a mentality – among them there are no dull, depressed people, loners, sufferers. They do not have complexes, and they do not suffer from what the average European suffers from. They are alien to modern ideals and ideas about success. Their life flows in harmony, joy, it is filled with fun and cheerfulness.

4. Spirituality.

Every person at some point faces such questions that science does not give an answer to, before which even the most advanced thinkers and philosophers fall silent. These are questions to which a person can only find the answer himself, and it differs for different people. But, nevertheless, the spiritual side of our life greatly influences the state of the body. Hunza are true Muslims, but their faith is different from traditional Islam. Everything they do in their spiritual life is their own business, and there is no place for coercion and a set of rules. Deep spirituality also contributes to a good mood, health and longevity, because the life of these people is harmonious and filled with meaning.

5. Regular fasting.

Due to the fact that the inhabitants of this area eat only the gifts of nature and do not have a developed economy to replenish provisions, at the end of the cold season and before the first harvest, they are forced to starve. During this period, they can only afford water infused with apricots. Absolutely everyone is starving – from children to the elderly. Such periods of fasting are beneficial for the body, because they allow you to start the process of self-cleaning and stabilize the work of all organs and systems. Due to the fact that this lifestyle and nutrition has existed for many years and has been passed down from generation to generation, the people have developed genetic resilience and the ability to endure periods of starvation without much stress and great losses for the body. The fact that fasting prolongs life is confirmed by science, but research on the mechanisms of slowing down aging is still ongoing.
