The first signs of pregnancy: how to find out for sure about your pregnancy position?

How good it would be if, in the very first hours after conception, the body signaled us about the changes that had taken place! Unfortunately, nature does not provide for such a useful function, and women have to be content with the likely symptoms that indicate pregnancy. With the development of medicine, it became possible to find out about your position using a pregnancy test, but this method is available only from the first day of missed menstruation. But what if you want to know about your new status as early as possible?

The first signs of pregnancy appear in women already 7-10 days after conception. Most pharmacy tests still do not give a positive answer: the concentration in the urine of hCG (chorionic gonadotropin) is too low – a hormone that appears in a woman’s body only when a child is conceived. But even before the first day of delayed menstruation, the expectant mother can find out what she is expecting a child, focusing on the sensations of her body.
Possible symptoms of pregnancy

HCG begins to be produced a few hours after fertilization, but its concentration in the blood reaches significant values 7-10 days after conception. From that moment on, a woman can feel how her body is changing, adjusting to the needs of a growing fetus. At the same time, the body of each expectant mother is individual, and it is difficult to predict how it will behave in a particular situation. Some women are more sensitive to the action of the hormone, while others do not feel anything special for a long time. Both options are normal, and don’t be surprised if your body doesn’t react the way it’s written in the books.
Breast engorgement

The first sign that expectant mothers notice. The chest becomes edematous, painful, and reacts to the slightest touch. That’s just a similar symptom can be observed before the onset of menstruation, and it is not possible to distinguish one condition from another.
Fluctuations in basal temperature

This way to find out about pregnancy is available only for women who have measured the temperature in the rectum throughout the entire cycle. The peak of basal temperature occurs at ovulation – the moment of maturation of the egg. Within 12-14 days, the mark does not drop below 37 degrees. If conception has occurred, the basal temperature will continue to remain within the same limits, if not, it will drop to values prior ovulation.
morning sickness

Unpleasant sensations in the form of nausea and vomiting, indicating the onset of toxicosis, may appear a few days before the expected menstruation. At the same time, even with an accomplished conception, not every expectant mother may have morning sickness. Some women feel only weakness and dizziness, and do not associate these symptoms with a possible pregnancy.
Change in smell

One of the earliest signs of pregnancy. The woman notes that the usual smells have become unpleasant, and it becomes unbearable to be in the kitchen next to the food being prepared. The body can rebel and, under the influence of hormones, give out a reaction in the form of vomiting, which manifests itself in every irritating smell.
Strengthening natural secretions

The hormone progesterone, which is responsible for the development of pregnancy, leads to the appearance of light, thick discharge as early as a week after conception. Thus, the body tries to protect the embryo and activates the production of cervical mucus that closes the cervical canal. A similar symptom can not always be distinguished from mucous secretions in the first days of menstruation.

Along with symptoms caused by hormonal changes and quite accurately indicating pregnancy, there are signs that have nothing to do with conceiving a child. In particular, the well-known dream in which a fish appears can talk about anything, including the desire to taste the fish soup or visit the aquarium. Also, darkening of the iris, pain in the navel, or a feeling of pulsation over the bosom does not indicate pregnancy. A metallic taste in the mouth, which is often associated with toxicosis, can indicate stomach problems, and irritability and drowsiness are signs of overwork, not always associated with expecting a baby.

An accurate diagnosis of pregnancy is possible only with a blood test for hCG. An increase in this hormone clearly indicates that a woman will soon become a mother. Ultrasound examination, carried out for a period of 4-6 weeks, allows you to clarify the location of the fetal egg and eliminate all doubts of the expectant mother about her position. To confirm the diagnosis, it is recommended to seek advice from a gynecologist.
