Oatmeal porridge with fried apples

Recipe for oatmeal with apples fried in butter with maple syrup and cinnamon.

Preparation description:
Breakfast shouldn’t be too complicated – oatmeal meets these requirements perfectly. To diversify it, we suggest adding fragrant pieces of caramelized apples with cinnamon. Children will certainly appreciate this dish.
Ingredients:
water – 3 cups
milk – 1 cup
unsalted butter – 1 tbsp. a spoon
oatmeal – 1 cup
salt – 1/4 teaspoon
butter – 2 tbsp. spoons (apples)
large apples – 3 Pieces (approximately 650 g)
maple syrup – 1 tbsp. a spoon (плюс ½ чашки) яблоки)

How to cook Oatmeal with Roasted Apples
1. Peel and core the apples, cut into 1 cm thick slices. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add apples and 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Cook until apples are soft, about 5 minutes. Add remaining ½ cup maple syrup and cinnamon. Simmer for approximately 1 minute.
3. Cook porridge. Bring water and milk in a large saucepan to a boil over medium heat. Heat butter in a medium skillet over medium heat until it starts to foam. Add the oatmeal and cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until golden brown and fragrant, 1½ to 2 minutes. While stirring, pour the toasted oatmeal into the pot of simmering liquid, reduce heat and cook until the porridge thickens, about 20 minutes. Add salt and stir with a spoon. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon, until the oatmeal has absorbed most of the liquid and is puffy, 7 to 10 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and let the porridge stand for 5 minutes. Serve immediately with fried apples.
