Curd Dough Pie with Apples.

I am sharing with you one of my favorite apple pies, a long-tested, one might say, family recipe. The pie is amazing! Halves of baked apples are hidden in the most delicious curd dough, the filling in which can be changed based on your taste preferences.

You will need:

Flour (the amount of flour depends on the moisture content of the cottage cheese) – 2.5 stacks.
Butter – 250 g
Curd – 200 g
Sugar – 2/3 stack.
Vanilla sugar – 1 packet.
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Apple (the quantity depends on the size of apples and shape) – 6 pcs
Cinnamon
Mandarin slices (or dates, dried apricots, walnuts, prunes, toffee … according to the number of halves of apples) – 12 pcs

How to cook:

1. Beat softened butter with sugar, add cottage cheese, mix. Pour the flour sifted together with the baking powder and vanilla sugar, knead the dough. Although it does not turn out to be too elastic, it does not stick to the hands and rolls well. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for half an hour. Flour may need a little less or more – it depends on the moisture content of the cottage cheese.

2. Wash the apples, peel, remove the seed box, cut into halves. Place the filling in the center of each apple. How many times have I baked this cake and have never repeated it! The filling can be a pitted date, dried apricots, prunes, half a walnut, even toffee like Korovka! This time, tangerines turned up under my arm, they then went into business)) Or you can generally make assorted and play a guessing game)

3. Divide the dough into two parts, roll out one of them and put on a baking sheet so that small sides form. Put the halves of apples on the dough with the filling down, sprinkle the apples with cinnamon, if the apples are very sour, sprinkle with sugar. The size of my form is 20×30 cm.

4. Roll out the second part of the dough and put it on apples, pinch the edges, grease the top with yolk. Bake for 40-60 minutes at T 180C.

Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar. Delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Apples become soft like thick jam + cinnamon + toppings of your choice and all this in a crispy curd dough … mmm … delight!
