Bacon-wrapped meat casserole.

Very tasty meat casserole, both hot and cold. This dish can be a wonderful decoration for your table. You can freely experiment with the filling, instead of mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes, take stewed carrots, regular cheese with herbs, spinach and much more.

Ingredients:

Minced meat (pork-beef) – 500 g
Champignons – 250-300 g
Bacon (sliced) – 200 g
Onions – 1-2 pcs.
Mozzarella – 100 g
Dried tomatoes (in oil) – 100 g
Cheese (grated) – 100 g
Crackers (ground) – 3-4 tbsp.
Vegetable oil (for frying) to taste
Salt to taste
Pepper dark to taste
Provence herbs to taste

Cooking method:

Chop mushrooms, onions and fry them in vegetable oil. Salt and season with pepper.

If you do not have ground crackers available, then dry the snow-white bread in the oven and chop.

Add ground crackers, grated cheese, salt, pepper to taste and Provencal herbs if desired (I like to add them to meat). Thoroughly mix the resulting mass.

Cut mozzarella into cubes. Cut sun-dried tomatoes.

Put bacon slices in a mold so that the bottom is closed, and the ends of the slices hang down. It is better to cover the form with baking paper, so that later it is easier to remove the finished casserole.

Divide minced meat into 3 parts. The bottom layer must be minced meat, it must be scrupulously planned in shape and lightly tamped.

Top with mozzarella cubes and sun-dried tomatoes. Compact each layer a little.

Put the second part of minced meat, and on top – mushrooms with onions.

Put the remaining minced meat in the last layer and scrupulously, slightly overlapping, cover with hanging slices of bacon. Cover the form with foil and bake for an hour at 200 degrees. During baking, a lot of meat juice appears, it must be drained.

After an hour of baking, remove the foil and let it brown. Adjust the degree of browning to your taste. The finished casserole can be served hot with a side dish. When cool, it is great for making sandwiches, appetizing even just with a piece of bread. You can experiment with the inside, choosing it to your own taste! For example, mozzarella with tomatoes can be replaced with stewed carrots, spinach, ordinary cheese with herbs … I really liked the taste that bacon and sun-dried tomatoes give to the casserole.
