Indian nut halva

For the recipe you will need:
hazelnuts or almonds (peeled) – 1.5 cup
sugar – 1.5 cup
cream or milk – 1.5 cup
ghee – 2 tbsp.
cashews or pistachios (peeled) – 2-3 tbsp.
To prepare Indian Nut Halva you need:

Crush hazelnuts or almonds, pour into a saucepan, pour milk or cream, add butter and sugar and, stirring occasionally, cook at a strong boil for 15 minutes.

When the liquid has evaporated by half, reduce the heat and continue to cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns into a thick mass and begins to lag behind the bottom of the pan.

After that, put the halva on a greased baking sheet and cool. Then, with wet hands, form a layer 2.5 cm thick from it and allow to harden.

Before serving, cut the halvah into small pieces and garnish each with half a toasted cashew nut or pistachios.
