Iron palm. Ma Litang Qigong

Finger and hand strengthening exercises

Exercise number 1. "Diamond bull plows the earth"

Take emphasis lying on your fingers. Arms extended and shoulder-width apart, fingers pointing forward. Feet are apart. Keep your body straight (Fig. 85).

Bend and lift the pelvis back - up (Fig. 86).

Slowly bend your elbows. Lower the chest to the floor first, and then the pelvis (Fig. 87).

Straighten your arms at the elbows and take the starting position. Repeat the exercise from the beginning.

Important points:

1) Movements should be slow, even and continuous.

2) Where it is necessary to keep the body straight and when moving forward, carry the body as close as possible above the floor.

3) When moving backward, bend as much as possible.

4) Beginners should repeat the exercise 15-30 times. In advanced stages, the number of repetitions can be increased up to 100 times.

Exercise number 2. "Grab a jug"

Take a pitcher with a small neck and fill it with sand. Place the pitcher in front of you.

Take the original Mabu stance: legs are wider than shoulders and bent at the knees. Clench your hands into fists and bring them to your waist. Keep your body straight (Fig. 88).

Use direct belly breathing.

Breathe in. With the thumb, index and middle fingers of one hand, grab the jug by the neck (Fig. 89).

Mentally draw the Qi of Heaven and Earth through the “five holes” (crown, Laogong points and Yongquan points) into the Lower Dan Tian. On the задержке дыхания поднимите кувшин до уровня груди (рис. 90).

Mentally guide the Qi from the Lower Dan Tian to the fingers that wrap around the neck of the jug. Exhale and slowly lower the pitcher to the ground.

Exercise number 3. "Raise the bell"

To a wooden stick 3 centimeters thick and 40–50 centimeters long, hang a bag of sand on a rope in the middle. Stand straight, legs apart slightly wider than shoulders, feet parallel, socks slightly turned inward. Bend your knees and assume Mabu stance. The palms holding the stick are turned down, the arms are extended forward at shoulder level (Fig. 91).

Use direct belly breathing. Breathe in. Mentally guide the Qi of Heaven and Earth through the Baihui point (crown) to the Lower Dan Tian.

Exhale. At the same time, with your hands, continuously twist the stick forward, winding the rope around it (Fig. 92).

Mentally raise Qi from the Dan Tian to the Lingtai point, where, dividing into two flows along the inner sides of the hands, lead the Laogong points (center of the palms).

Breathe in. At the same time, with your hands, continuously twist the stick back, unwinding the rope. Mentally raise Qi from the outer sides of both hands to the Baihui point, and then return it along the Anterior Middle Meridian to the Lower Dan Tian. Do the exercise 49 times.

Exercise number 4. "Play with a pearl"

For training, make an iron ball weighing 5-10 kg. Spread your legs apart and squat into a Mabu stance. Socks are slightly wrapped inward, rest against the palate with the tip of the tongue. Hold the ball with your right hand. Use direct belly breathing.

Breathe in. At the same time, raise your right hand up to a horizontal level and turn it with your palm down, continuing to hold the ball (Fig. 93).

With your thought, lead the Qi of Heaven and Earth through the Baihui point (crown) to the Lower Dan Tian. Hold your breath. Simultaneously unclench the fingers of the right hand and release the iron ball, allowing it to fall. Mentally raise Qi from the Lower Dan Tian to the Lingtai point, where there is a division into two streams, going along the inner sides of the hands in the palm to the Laogong points. The movement doesn't stop. At the same time, catch the falling ball with your left hand (Fig. 94).

Mentally lead Qi into ten fingers. Raise your left hand with the iron ball (Fig. 95).

Unclench your fingers and release the ball. Catch the falling ball with your right hand. Repeat the exercise 49 times.

Exercise number 5. Sticking hands into a barrel

Forearm strengthening exercises

Exercise number 1. Tapping with a stick

Take a wooden stick in one hand and tap it on the other hand (Fig. 97).

When striking, mentally lead the Qi from the Lower Dan Tian to the hand and concentrate the strength and Qi in it. Keep patting until the pain becomes unbearable, then move on to patting the other hand.

Exercise number 2. "Waving the whip"

Wrap the tree trunk with a cloth rag and rope. Get sideways to a tree. Use reverse belly breathing. On the выдохе наносите удары внешними и внутренними частями предплечий по стволу дерева (рис. 98-100).
