Diet for those who are actively involved in sports

Now more and more people are involved in sports. In order for the training to take place at the proper level, you need to eat right. What should be the diet of an athlete? It is desirable that he eat healthy food, which would have a balanced combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

The fact is that carbohydrates are a source of energy for the body. If he has such fuel, then the person will not experience fatigue. Carbohydrates are abundant in fruits, whole grains, starchy vegetables, yogurt and milk, and legumes.

Proteins are necessary for the recovery of the body and for building muscles. For the prevention of scoliosis, lean proteins are most useful, which are found in chicken and turkey, as well as fish, eggs, beef, cheese, nuts, and legumes.

Unhealthy fats, which are abundant in fatty meats, fried foods, and whole dairy products, are not needed in an athlete’s diet. But if you eat oily fish (tuna, salmon, sardines) 2-3 times a week, add olive oil, avocados and nuts to your diet, then there will be no harm from fats. Fatty fish contains healthy omega-3 acids, which also prevent the occurrence of heart disease and stroke. A large portion of protein-containing foods is not as beneficial as eating this food throughout the day. And a portion of animal protein should be relatively small: fit in the palm of your hand.

Training should take place 3-4 hours after a heavy lunch, and a light snack can be 2-3 hours before class. If you dine too heavily, you can become slow and lethargic, even earn indigestion. This is because the digestive system and muscles are trying to take energy for their functions. And due to lack of nutrition, fatigue and weakness appear. 1-2 hours after training, you need to eat food rich in proteins and carbohydrates.

The athlete must receive a sufficient amount of fluid, you should not limit yourself.

As we can see, it is useful for an athlete to eat well and fully. Only then will he be able to train well and be in good shape.
