Daily routine – rules of life for adults

Traditionally, it was believed that the daily routine is necessary for the child. It helps him to organize, thereby making him healthier, smarter and more obedient due to the fact that the appropriate actions are laid down in regime moments. But according to newfangled trends, one can completely do without a regime, moreover, some even consider it harmful, restricting freedom of choice and self-expression.

Daily routine for adults

What then can be said about adults, because they seem to be already responsible for themselves and can plan their actions as they please. Let’s try to figure out whether they still need a regimen, is it advisable to live according to a strict routine, or is it better, making spontaneous decisions, to expect something new from every day?

Is a mode always necessary?

To begin with, we note that the regime is not only inappropriate, but simply impossible if you have an irregular working day. Here, even having planned something for the evening, you can be very disappointed, having lost such an opportunity. If you work “from call to call”, it is quite possible to try to make an approximate daily routine for each day of the week. There is even a whole direction in the art of management called time management, which will help you organize and use your time rationally.

How to make a daily routine?

Remember school, find a piece of paper in a box and a pen (however, you can draw a sign using a computer, but paper is even preferable, due to the fact that it can be attached to any place convenient for you).

So, you should draw a time axis, marking on it every hour out of twenty-four. Then you need to designate and put on it those events that should be performed at a clearly defined time. For example, gathering children to school or kindergarten, going to work, going to circles and sections with a child, and so on. Starting points should be wake up time and bedtime. It is also not recommended to shift them, since a full-fledged healthy sleep is one of the main regime moments in principle. We also designate the time of eating (taking into account the pace and rhythm of modern life, at least approximately). All remaining free cells are your time, which you can dispose of at your discretion.

We can only give some recommendations, consisting in finding time to communicate with children, husband, others relatives, household chores (why without them?), quiet cultural entertainment (going to the theater, exhibitions, cinema), outdoor activities, meeting friends, any of your hobbies and hobbies. All this must be evenly distributed in your free time on each day of the week. Whether to leave weekends exclusively for relaxation or plan chores for this time is up to you to decide based on your own preferences. By the way, so that homework is not so tiring, it is better not only to involve household members in it, but also to do only one thing every day. For example, wash on Monday, cook on Tuesday, and so on.

Pros and cons of adult mode

To make the transition to the regimen not stressful, it is advisable to carry it out gradually over several weeks. If you realize that the regime is not for you, if you feel uncomfortable living on a schedule, you can always abandon planning, returning to your usual way of life. But it’s worth a try anyway, because you might be surprised how much free time you waste when you can use it for everything that you haven’t had time for a long time.

As in children, in adults, the daily routine allows you to satisfy not only the physiological needs for sleep and food, but also the psychological ones, allowing you to perform all the necessary work and fully relax after it. The advantage of the “adult” mode is that you largely form the most convenient sequence of changing actions on your own, and not just accept the one imposed above. The difficulty lies in the fact that not everyone lives according to the regime, and if according to the regime, then it may not coincide with yours. This means that some items (meeting friends at a convenient time for you, for example) will be quite problematic to complete.
