7 Reasons to Run Outdoors

With the introduction of special, what is called “safe” simulators, people completely abandoned running on the street and running in general. All you can hear on every corner is, “Running will hurt your joints! If you want to be a healthy person, running is ordered for you! Choose exercise equipment, not running! ”, And so on. There are at least seven arguments in favor of running down the street, and if you refuse them, you are depriving yourself of 7 powerful factors that can make your body stronger and metabolism higher.

Argument #1: Being outdoors
People in megacities, million-plus cities and simply large settlements have long rarely appeared in the fresh air. Their life from the office or workshops smoothly flows to the sofa in front of the TV. And even those who go to the gym still deprive themselves of enough fresh air. Running on the street is able to enrich the muscles with oxygen, which will only have a beneficial effect on the work of your body’s cells.

This is not about jogging in the industrial areas of your city. The point is to get out:

To parks and squares
In recreation areas where there are no cars and other sources of pollution
In quiet sleeping areas and quarters where there are no industrial enterprises
It will be just great if you have the opportunity to run cross-country, where human activity is minimal. Thanks to this, you can significantly increase muscle tone at the same pace as on a treadmill.
Argument No. 2. Additional hardening
Those who go jogging on the street practically do not get sick. Their immune system is strengthened by constant exposure to fresh air. It is especially hardened when running during low temperatures or even rains. Yes, yes, there are people who run in any weather? and it was through this approach to training that they developed good health and strong immunity.

However, in cold weather, you should follow certain rules:

Don’t wear too many warm clothes
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth
Warm up before a run
As for warm clothing, you need to choose it so that it is cool at the beginning of the race, because then the body will warm up and you will feel comfortable.

Important! The tracksuit should be light, but not windy, otherwise the heat dissipation will be too fast and you will start to freeze.

Argument #3 Diversity
There is nothing worse in the life of an athlete than a continuous hour and a half on the treadmill. Looking through a wall or window at flashing cars or passing pedestrians is interesting only in the first lessons, and then it becomes unbearable. You can listen to music, you can somehow distract your mind, but the wall in front of your eyes kills the desire to train.

Running outside is another matter. You are free to change routes as you wish. Today you can have a run from the square to the park, and then to the apartment, or just have a run around the square. It is this variety that does not allow you to quit classes, it is it that acts as an additional motivating factor to continue not only jogging, but also training in general.

Argument #4: Security
Every athlete knows that treadmills can be unsafe for their users:

You can fall off the track
Beginners do not always have time to change the tempo on the control panel, and therefore often stumble
Running on the street is also fraught with a lot of unpleasant aspects in the form of holes or stones, but here you have a chance to run around or maneuver at the right time. In addition, such maneuvering between the pits only kindles interest, because running exclusively straight ahead will get bored sooner or later.

Argument #5
How can you change the way you run on a treadmill? Change incline and speed, but that’s where the possibilities end. Running outside is another matter. You can give yourself a real test to further strengthen your joints and diversify your workout:

Can run cross country
Run up and down stairs to explode your hips, and the more intense the run, the better the effect.
Running on a sandy beach will load your muscles even more and create an additional load not only on your legs, but also on your respiratory system.
Such workouts never get boring, so you will always maintain interest in them.
Argument number 6. Improved pumping of the legs
From the foregoing, you understand that cross-country running works out all the bundles of muscle fibers many times better, unlike jogging on a treadmill. This has been proven not only by science, but also by athletes and athletes around the world. If you notice, then running on the street includes absolutely everything in your workouts:

Fans of martial arts, boxing and mixfight
Representatives of athletics and weightlifting
football players
Athletes and bodybuilders
Even people who row and swim practice running and include it in their workouts all the time.

Why?

The golden rule of body development says – if you want strong arms, you should pump your legs.
Argument number 7. Strengthening the joints
A lot of people claim that running outdoors is dangerous for the ligaments. Yes, it is, it is even more dangerous for overweight people who are better off doing it on ellipsoids first.

Remember that there is one “BUT!”. It consists in the following. You will never strengthen your joints and ligaments if you do not include outdoor running in your training cycles. The body works in such a way that it seeks to overcome and get used to the load that it receives. This happens with muscles, it also happens with ligaments.

Tip: If you manage without fanaticism while running on the street, you can not only work out the muscles of the whole body, but also properly strengthen the joints and ligaments.

Outcome
Running outdoors is many times more fun than running on a treadmill. Remember to choose the right route, do not overwork yourself in the first two weeks of training, dress properly so as not to “mate” during the run. Once you’ve tried running outdoors, you’ll only use the treadmill when it’s bad weather outside.

Good luck!
