Sports nutrition and supplements: what’s the difference?

Sports nutrition: what is its difference from dietary supplements and functional nutrition?

Here the border is actually very thin, and it was invented by the sellers of functional food themselves.
For example, protein mixtures of sports nutrition are called proteins, and if carbohydrates are added to them, then gainers. The same composition of functional nutrition sellers will never be called a sports nutrition, since this is a marketing component.
The usual mixture of proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins will be positioned approximately with the following slogans:
Don’t go to the gym if you don’t have time.
You don’t “pump” because it’s not a sports nutrition.
Unlike sports nutrition, it is not harmful to health.
That is, in a person they support the idea that results can be achieved easily, quickly and safely.
And on the other side of the camp are sports nutrition manufacturers, who will also rarely call their products functional nutrition, since the quality of their ingredients is higher, the target audience is more literate in nutrition, and you don’t want to offend your product.
And although some sports nutrition manufacturers have separate functional nutrition lines, in the end it all depends on the target audience.
Any sports nutrition is not a panacea!

As with any niche, the sports nutrition industry has its own undercurrents. But remember: any type of sports nutrition is not a miracle cure, as they are positioned. It is better to think of it as food concentrates that help you adjust your diet. And the primary source will always be ordinary products, which certainly remain more preferable.
In other words, if you live on pasta, and allow yourself a couple of packs of doshirak for the holidays, it is better to spend money on ordinary, high-quality food – meat, fish, vegetables and fruits, than on sports nutrition.
Sports nutrition is only an assistant, it will not do anything for you, neither lose weight, nor gain muscles, nor speed up metabolism, etc.

Fat burning products: myth or reality

Fat burning has several stages, primitively they can be divided into three:
Decomposition of triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol, their release from adipocytes. Fat should leave its house and turn into a form that is convenient for use.
Transport to destination in mitochondria.
the process of oxidation itself.
Depending on your situation, you may have problems at any stage, or at all at the same time.
Example: the popular L-Carnitine, which is pushed into all bars in supermarkets in the “weight loss” section.
It helps only in transportation, or rather, by combining with fatty acids, it helps to overcome the cell membrane and deliver them to the mitochondria, and who will recruit them for you? Who will work?
Or take some pharmacological drug from the nearest pharmacy that can be used for fat burning, it will provide recruitment, and who will oxidize them for you? Who will work?
Knowing the process of lipolysis, it is very funny to read the claimed properties of another panacea, but people believe specialists in white coats from the TV screen.
Although even in official medicine, not everything is so simple!
The two main drugs that are legally approved and used in official prescriptions for weight loss are:
Sibutramine – which reduces appetite.
Orlistat – which blocks fats.
We will skip the part where I talk about side effects and contraindications, of which there are about 50, but this will not stop you, right?
These drugs do not change your eating habits, which gave you your problem, the principle of action is based on reducing calorie intake, or blocking some part of the food. But what will you do when the pills run out?

Can such drugs be effective without physical exertion?

In order to get ourselves “in shape” we have two ways: either increase spending or reduce calorie intake in order to create a negative balance of energy in the body, and it began to use its native sources.
Therefore, the official “fat burners” from the sports nutrition will stimulate physical activity through the central nervous system, and the medical ones will reduce the income.
I do not see the point in using them without physical activity, since a regular diet (note not hunger, but nutrition for your goals, sumo wrestlers also have a diet by the way) will give the same results.
Why use external sources if at the same time you are not ready to make a couple of extra moves towards your health?
Proper nutrition without physical activity – works. And supplements without physical activity are money down the drain. It only makes sense if you use them directly, as food, although primary sources are preferable.
