The benefits of muesli What are the benefits of muesli? The oat flakes included in their basis contain dietary fiber that helps reduce cholesterol, vitamin B1, magnesium, phosphorus and other trace elements. They belong to the so-called slow carbohydrates and will energize you for a long time. Nuts and seeds are useful content of essential fats and proteins. They help our hair and skin to be healthy, blood vessels – passable and strong, nerves – strong. Candied fruits contain useful trace elements, fresh fruits are rich in vitamins.

So let’s make muesli. What will you need? I will give the “dosage” of products in abstract units, for muesli you can mix the ingredients in different proportions and over time you will choose the best recipe for yourself. What to choose: homemade muesli or ready-made purchased? You decide. I think that mixing the ingredients is not difficult at all, and if you wish, you can prepare it for the future, so there will be no advantages at all from purchased ones. But the disadvantages will remain: you do not determine the composition and proportions yourself, you do not know anything about the quality of the dried fruits used, there are no fresh fruits in the composition.
You will need (for one serving): a handful of oatmeal (“Hercules”); a pinch of raisins; 2 walnuts (or almonds). Very tasty muesli is obtained by adding lightly toasted sunflower or pumpkin seeds to their composition; a little of any dried fruit from those that are at home (prunes, dates, mangoes – it does not matter); half an apple (or other fresh fruit; for example, half a banana, half a pear). In the evening we crumble into a deep plate of nuts, add raisins and other dried fruits, pour cereal. Flakes are also not necessarily strictly Herculean: you can take any homogeneous or mixture (“3 cereals”, “4 cereals”). Pour all this with water so that the water level covers the contents of the plate by about 1-1.5 cm. There are other bases for muesli, you can try them over time. For example, muesli made from germinated wheat. Cover the plate with a saucer and leave overnight. Cereals and dried fruits will “swell” overnight. You just have to cut a fresh apple there – and a healthy breakfast is ready! Enjoy your meal!
Options for cooking muesli Dried fruits make the whole dish sweet enough, but some people prefer to pour juice over muesli instead of water. Another option is muesli with milk. Obviously, such muesli cannot be left overnight for “soaking”, as milk can turn sour. In this case, instead of the classic “Hercules”, take cereal, which is marked “For instant cooking.” Such flakes have already been subjected to additional processing and muesli can be consumed immediately after mixing the ingredients and pouring milk. Muesli with yogurt is also a popular option, especially among “always losing weight” girls (or just those who care about their figure). Needless to say, in this case, yogurt should be taken classic, without flavorings and additives (it is better if you cook it yourself). Muesli with kefir is probably for special gourmets. I just heard about the possibility of such preparation, but I didn’t dare to try it myself – after all, it’s not for everybody. Experiment, don’t be afraid! Nothing threatens you, since it is impossible to “spoil” the products from which muesli is prepared. Yes, and each portion comes out very budget.
