Sausage Dough

Sausages in dough are a quick, tasty and inexpensive dish that you can always take as a snack to work, school or cook them for a family picnic in the park. This recipe was kindly shared with me by our friends who often cook them.
It is very convenient that the yeast dough can be prepared in advance, divided into several parts and frozen in the freezer. As needed, you can defrost it and immediately cook sausages in the dough or any pastries without making a new dough.

Ingredients for the sausage recipe:

Flour 500 g
Milk 250 ml
Dry yeast 12 g
Egg (1 pc. for dough and 1 pc. for lubrication) 2 pcs.
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt 0.5 tsp
Unscented vegetable oil 6 tbsp.
Sausages 12-14 pcs.
How to cook sausages in the dough:

1. First prepare the yeast dough. To do this, combine slightly warmed milk, sugar and salt, yeast, beaten egg and vegetable oil in a deep bowl. Gradually adding flour, knead a soft dough right in the bowl, which should not stick to your hands. Leave the dough to rise in a warm place for 1 hour, covered with a towel.
2. Prepare sausages for stuffing. You can use any sausages: chicken, turkey, beef, etc.
3. When the dough has already come up, you can start wrapping sausages in it. For convenience, the dough can be divided into 2-3 parts. Pinch off a piece of dough, twist a tourniquet out of it and wrap the tourniquet around the sausage several times, attach the tip to the dough.
4. Lubricate the baking sheet with vegetable oil and put on it all the sausages prepared in this way in the dough. Top with beaten egg with any spices.
Put in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Serve the sausages in the dough to the table hot on portioned plates or laid out on a wide dish!
