Chicken liver puffs

Puffs can be prepared very simply and quickly for breakfast or dinner, or you can make such an appetizer in the form of small delicious pies for the festive table! I use purchased ready-made dough, which is sold packaged in 1 kg or 0.5 kg. In this chicken liver puff recipe, I cooked by calculating the ingredients for 0.5 kg of puff pastry.

To prepare puffs, I take the following ingredients:

Ready puff pastry 0.5 kg
Chicken liver 400 g
Carrot 1 piece
Onion 1 piece
1 egg (for brushing)
Vegetable oil
Butter 70 g
Recipe.

The dough must be removed from the freezer 15-20 minutes before you make puffs from it so that it thaws a little. At the same time, if you have already taken it out of the package, cover it with cling film on top so that it does not become weathered.

Prepare the liver filling for puffs. Cut the onion into small crumbs, and grate the carrots on a coarse or fine grater, sauté the vegetables in vegetable oil for 5-7 minutes. Boil the washed liver until tender in salted water.

Grind vegetables and boiled liver in a blender or twist into a meat grinder along with butter. Salt to taste, mix well. The filling is ready.

Cut the dough into small squares 8×8 cm or even smaller, if desired. Put the filling in the middle and pinch the opposite corners. The resulting holes can also be pinched.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Whisk an egg. On a baking sheet, a little oiled, put the puffs, grease them with an egg and put in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
