PART I VEDIC ASTROLOGY OF HEALING
CHAPTER 1 THE VEDIC APPROACH
All the great civilizations of antiquity based their cultures on elaborate astrological systems relating the conditions of life and events on earth to the cosmic influence of the stars. Whether it is India or China, Egypt or Babylon, or the Maya and Incas of the Americas, in all cases we find an astrological foundation at the heart of cultures. Astrology and its ways of counting sacred time formed the basis of their calendars, which were developed to organize the life of human society in accordance with cosmic forces, which is more reliable than just human desires and calculations. Even in the ancient cultures of Europe - the Greeks, Romans, Celts and Germans had astrological knowledge, as in all societies that recognized the sacred nature of the universe.
In the same way, all the systems of traditional medicine, East and West, had at their disposal corresponding forms of astrology, very serious both in theoretical foundations and in practical application. Characteristically, traditional Chinese medicine has the I Ching and Chinese astrology, while Ayurvedic medicine in India has Vedic astrology. Traditional European medicine, dating back to the Greeks, included Western astrology, which was part of the pagan tradition.
To connect medicine and astrology, that is, to create medical astrology, is one of the deepest and most ancient tasks solved by mankind. Ancient medical astrology, like all such ancient cultures in general, used astrologically accurate rituals to create harmony between human existence and the rhythms of the cosmos. We have long contemplated the stars, asking for guidance, mercy and healing power, in order to understand human existence in a deeper perspective, in which we can touch the eternal and the infinite. Today, we are entering a new stellar era in which ancient, natural and traditional systems of healing and spiritual development are once again becoming revered. In this regard, the study of healing astrology is very relevant, if not key, in the restoration of an older and perhaps wiser heritage of mankind.
VEDIC ASTROLOGY AND AYURVEDIC MEDICINE
Vedic astrology is the traditional Indian system of reading the stars, planets and cosmic cycles. In the beginning it was called Vedanga jyotish, that is, the study of light (Jyoti), which is part of the Veda (Vedanga). Along with this, it was called Jyotirveda, "the light of the Veda" or "the science of light." Ayurveda, translated as "the science of life," is the Vedic system of natural healing for the mind and body. Both are living branches of the ancient sacred science that arose in those ancient times when the connection between man and the sacred universe was more direct. Unlike the corresponding Western traditions, its continuity, although it was tested during the times of foreign invasions, remained unshakable. Today, these systems are experiencing a renaissance, since we are studying them again.
Vedic astrology is an unsurpassed tool for divination and counseling. There are many amazing stories about how Vedic astrologers can predict the events of a person's life with fantastic accuracy. But Vedic astrologers are distinguished not only by the accuracy of predictions, they also express extremely wise judgments about the purpose of the life of a given individual, his karma and spiritual path. I myself visited several Vedic astrologers in India who were able to indicate some important events in my life, my future development, as well as what is connected with the past and future, with amazing accuracy, striking me with deep, wise conclusions. Because of this, some Vedic astrologers are considered clairvoyant, although they may simply describe what the natal chart can reveal to those who are experienced and knowledgeable in astrological science.
In the same way, Ayurveda is an accurate and affordable means of healing the body and mind, which helps to achieve optimal levels of health, energy and vitality. There are many examples of how Ayurvedic doctors changed a person’s life simply by prescribing a certain diet and lifestyle, or they healed chronic intractable diseases of various types with special herbs and cleansing procedures that can literally rejuvenate. Therefore, some Ayurvedic doctors are considered magic healers, although they may simply apply methods based on an understanding of the laws of nature and the movement of vital forces, according to Ayurveda.
These two Vedic systems and their magical power are presented in parallel in Vedic Astrology of Healing and Ayurvedic Astrology. Ayurvedic astrology teaches us how to combine the factor of health with the factor of fate - our vitality and karma, realize the highest goals of life, make earthly existence adjust to the rhythm of heavenly forces and, thereby, expand the horizons of our consciousness. Ayurvedic astrology shows how to heal with the help of the stars, bringing the energies of the cosmos into your life in order to once again bathe in the rays of cosmic light.
COSMIC MAN OF LIGHT
We live in an era of ecology, when it is time to understand that the Earth is a single organism, a "planetary being", endowed with its own life and consciousness. The planet on which we live is not just a lump of matter, but a living field with a consciousness of its own, which humanity, if it wants to survive, must take into account.
Vedic astrology knows that each planet has its own being and consciousness. This is a god or goddess - a universal entity worthy of reverence, and not just a ball with physical and chemical characteristics. For this reason, Vedic astrology is not only the science of predictions that are made mechanically, but also the art of communicating with these higher cosmic beings and bringing their good powers into our inert, limited world.
The Absolute creates an immense organism, or cosmic being, containing all the worlds. This is Purusha, or the cosmic embodiment of the Vedic idea. It is said of him that he was made of light and dwells in the sun and stars. Above individual living creatures, there are grandiose cosmic entities and forces that govern different levels of being, from atoms to galaxies - and they are all aspects of Purusha, the supreme Cosmic Being. The planets of the solar system are the main cosmic forces that govern our lives and everything that exists on Earth.
One of the key laws of understanding this all-encompassing cosmic consciousness is that if something happens on one level, then it is reflected on another. From this come some well-known sayings, such as “as above, so below”, “as outside, so inside”. Cosmic being maintains within itself various interconnected dimensions, or planes of being - material, biological and spiritual.
Life and STARS
All forms of life on Earth originate from stars, primarily through the light of the Sun. Biological life forms begin with the process of absorption of sunlight by plants (photosynthesis), which creates nutrients that support all life. However, planetary rays are also sunlight, only reflected. It can be said that planets, like plants, are receivers of light, created to transmit it in various forms.
The effects of sunlight and moonlight on organic life are well known through the life cycles and reproductive characteristics of plants and animals. At first glance, it is less likely that the rays of other planets can affect terrestrial life - they seem so weak to an earthly observer. But, given their electromagnetic fields, and also that the solar system is a single organism, this probability must also be taken into account. In addition, we cannot rule out the possibility that the light of stars and their electromagnetic fields influence life in the solar system. The mystery of life is rooted in the light of the stars and planets.
All the beings of the universe are involved in the mystery of light in one form or another, whether it be the light emitted by the stars or the quanta of the inner light of living beings that are part of their metabolism. We are all like plants and planets, being organisms that emit light.
But the transformation of light takes place not only in the outer forms of life, but also in the brain, whose function is to emit and absorb the inner light. This light is ultimately the Absolute. He is not just a force in the physical sense, but a force of consciousness, which is the highest and subtlest form of light. The connection between the inorganic, organic and spiritual worlds, on which Vedic astrology is built, is not a game of the imagination, but a natural process that accompanies the development of the universe. It illustrates the divine thought that creates worlds of varying degrees of organization and light saturation - animate and inanimate.
VEDIC SCIENCE
Vedic astrology, or jyotish, is the most important of the six Vedangas (parts of the Veda). It is called the eye of the Veda, through which all Vedic knowledge can be viewed from the right angle. Ayurveda, in turn, is the most important of the Upaveda (secondary Vedas), only following which one can live an authentic Vedic life. Ayurveda and Vedic astrology are closely connected not only with each other, but with all Vedic sciences, including the founts of wisdom - yoga and Vedanta and their spiritual ways of realizing atman and realizing the identity of the soul and the Absolute.
The Vedas themselves are ancient prayer texts, containing spiritual depth and penetrating mysticism. The Vedas are the insights of the great Himalayan seers (rishis), their age is over five thousand years. The Rig Veda, the most fundamental of all the four Vedas, is probably the most ancient book in the world, as far as one looks back into the depths of time. It carries the collective wisdom of our ancient
