An Astrologer’s Handbook. planetary transits. Francis Sakoyan

Astrologer's Handbook. planetary transits. Francis Sakoyan

Introduction
The book contains valuable material for both the novice astrologer and the professional astrologer. The content is the result of many years of study, research and experience of both authors. All materials presented here are based on the fundamental principles and meaning of planets, signs, aspects and houses.
This book is divided into two parts.
Part I presents the basic astrological principles that underlie transit analysis. She clarifies the basic question of what a horoscope is and goes on to detail the lesser known factors in astrological interpretation. The main focus in this horoscope is based on hereditary factors, which are periodically stimulated by transiting planets - transit cannot cause any event in a person's life that the natal horoscope would not promise.
Part II is a guide for interpreting transits. It defines planetary transits and their meanings.
This book is the third in a series that analyzes the three major areas of Astrology. It deals with predictive Astrology, which is in many ways the most challenging part of astrological science and practice. Taken together, these three volumes, Astrological Dictionary, Human Relations Astrology and Predictive Astrology; understanding transits as the key to the future, cover all the basic material needed to become a competent astrologer.
Astrology is a vast field, and no book, no matter how large or wide, can claim to cover every astrological subject of interest or importance. However, these three volumes do provide essential materials for learning about astrology and they can be used as a 'springboard' for further research and development. We hope that eventually these books will provide the basis for an organized course of study at universities.
Understanding the unfolding of human destiny is more important today than before because of the fast pace of time.
Anticipating upcoming trends can be an invaluable tool to apply later in your life.

HOW TO USE THIS BOOK
Do you determine transits yourself using Ephemeris or use the services computer, part 2 of this book gives you a guide to interpretation. All major transits are listed and described.
If you do not want to deal with mathematical operations to determine transits, the services of a computer are useful, which gives an accurate birth chart and a complete list of all the planets passing through your birth chart. The dates of these transits will be listed in the countdown. The transits themselves will be on the pages of this book, which explains their meaning.
If you want to determine transits, first find the positions of the planets given in the Ephemeris for the given date. Then determine whether these planets form angles of 0, 60, 90, 120, or 360 degrees to any of the natal planets in the birth chart (minor aspects are not covered in this volume). The next step is to look at the period of time during which these angles are formed within a permissible orbit of 1 deg. If it is the Sun or the Moon, an orbit of 2 degrees is allowed.
Once you have determined the aspect or angle, look it up in Part 2 of this book in the section on the transits of this very planet. House transits are also considered under individual planets.
Ephemeris is a book that gives the positions of the planets for noon or midnight GMT for each day of the year.

PART I
ASTROLOGICAL PRINCIPLES
1. What are Transits
Transits are the key to the psychology of human relationships. They point to a revealing image of a person's relationship to his or her environment. Transits stimulate the latent psychological tendencies of the individual, and this makes the analysis of transits, in our opinion, the most important method of predictive Astrology.
Transits have an important guiding value for making decisions and doing business during a crisis. They are useful for understanding the mental reactions of others and timing actions and relationships that affect important personal relationships.
The basic psychic pattern with which a person begins life is revealed by the birth horoscope, often called the catal horoscope. The natal horoscope gives the positions of the planets at the exact time and exact place of a person's birth. As a person matures, the planets change their positions in the zodiac and thus move into new relationships with each other and with their positions in the birth chart. These movements of the planets in the sky in relation to the planets in the natal horoscope are called transits.
Transits, by definition, are the aspects formed between the positions of the planets in the sky at any given time in relation to the position of those planets in the catal or birth chart. Aspects, transitive or natal, are specific angular relationships that exist between planets in the sky at any given time. The most important of these angular relationships are called major aspects. They include conjunction (0 degrees), sextile (60 degrees), square (90 degrees), trine (120 degrees) and opposition (180 degrees). A transiting planet may form any of these angles to planets in a birth chart at various times. When one of these angles is formed, the planet makes a specific transiting aspect to a specific natal planet.
Let us suppose that a person has an initial Saturn at 2° 03' 1 Taurus. At the time of this writing (October 14, 1975), Uranus ataneta is transiting the sign of Scorpio at 2° 03', forming an exact transit opposition to the individual's catalic Saturn. Transiting Saturn 2° 04' Leo forms a transit square to its own natal position at the same time. On October 27, 1975, transiting Mars will be at 2° 03' Cancer, making an exact transiting sextile to natal Saturn.
Also important when describing transits is the wearable position of the house or section of life through which the transit planet moves.
The transits that have the most visible and strongest effects are those that enhance aspects of the original character in the birth chart.
The strength of a transiting planet depends on the strength and significance of the same planet in the natal horoscope. All transits produce some effect, so the astute astrologer-practitioner must know which influences are of major importance or major, and which are of secondary importance or minor.
The transits of the slow moving planets - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars - indicate day to day shifts in mood and attitude. They act as time factors in determining significant events indicated by slow moving planets.
During stationary or retrograde periods, transits of fast moving planets can act in much the same way as transits of slow moving planets.
It is important to note the complete cyclic movement of the transiting planets as they move through the hemispheres and quadratures of the horoscope. These cycles indicate periods of personal as opposed to social and objective as opposed to personal activity,
When a planet transits the Eastern Hemisphere, the sector of the horoscope which includes the Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth, First, Second and Third Houses of the horoscope, the actions which the planet which makes the transit of this hemisphere govern will be personal and independent.
When a planet passes the Western Hemisphere, the sector of the horoscope, which includes the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth houses, the actions ruled by this planet will be influenced in some way by others.
When a planet passes through the Southern Hemisphere, a sector of the horoscope that includes the Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth houses, the affairs ruled by this planet will concern large-scale matters that go beyond immediate personal concerns.
When a planet transits the Northern Hemisphere, the quadrant of the horoscope which includes the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Loma, the actions that the transiting planet governs will be subjective and directly personal concerns.
Retrograde and direct periods should also be taken into account. In many cases, the retrograde movement of a transiting planet will cause it to repeat the same aspect to the natal planet two or three times. This pattern of repeated contacts almost always occurs during the transits of slow moving planets to natal planets.
The first contact is made when the planet is straight in motion; it usually remains straight in motion until it reaches a stationary position out of the aspect's orbit towards the natal planet. When a transiting planet becomes backward in motion, it moves backwards (as seen from Earth) and forms the same transiting aspect to the natal planet. Then, in most cases, it goes back from the aspect's orbit to the natal planet, becomes stationary, and then again resumes direct forward movement, and again establishes the same transit aspect for the third and last time.
There are times when only two contacts are made to a natal planet: this happens when an aspect is formed and completed during the stationary period of a transiting planet. These стационарные транзиты имеют особое значение, т.к. they are longer than the same the transit of an individual planet usually occurs, and marks an important recurring point in events and personal relationships.
During the first contact of a transiting planet with a natal planet, the event indicated by the transiting planet is often in its infancy. The second, usually retrograde contact indicates a time when relationships, circumstances or events are gaining strength and momentum. When the third and final contact is made, their death sentence is pronounced and events are approaching relating to the nature of the transitive aspect, either during the period of contact or shortly thereafter.
Due to the prelude of the equinoxes, the event indicated by the transit may be delayed, especially in the case of middle-aged and elderly people. This is because the Tropical Zodiac changes its position at a rate of fifty arcseconds each year, creating a deviation between the positions of
