Execution technique
Slowly bending your knees, move your pelvis back as if you were going to sit on a chair. The angle of the bend of the legs in the knee joints should be approximately 90 degrees. The downward movement stops before the thighs are parallel to the floor. Return to the starting position and repeat the exercise.

Starting position for wide leg squats

Remove the bar from the racks and put it on your shoulders.
Stand up straight with your legs wide apart (double shoulder width apart). The feet are turned outward at an angle of 45 degrees.
Bend your legs slightly at the knee joints.
Main muscles involved

Trunk: abdominal muscles, erector spinae, quadratus lumborum.
Hips: hip rotators, gluteus medius and minimus, adductors of the thigh.
Lower legs: stabilizing muscles of the ankle joint, calf muscle.
