Day off: no rules?

The kid has been going to kindergarten for several months now. He is already accustomed to a certain diet. And to break it on the weekend means to create difficulties for him on Monday.

But what about Saturday and Sunday? After all, you want to sleep longer and relax with the whole family, going to visit, to the circus or to a picnic.

Let’s start in the morning. Let the baby, opening his eyes, see an apple or banana, previously washed and left in plain sight. So he had a snack, without prejudice to health and without interrupting his appetite. And if he also puts cubes, a picture book or a new toy by the crib, consider that you still have a whole hour left to soak up in bed with your beloved spouse.

Mom, of course, wants to feed the baby tastier and more varied, but this does not mean at all that he can be given ice cream instead of soup. Try to enrich children’s meals with vitamins and minerals as much as possible: after all, not all kindergartens offer children juices and fresh vegetables and fruits, sea fish, yogurts, olive oil and other expensive foods that you can afford on Saturday or Sunday. When preparing healthy foods, pamper your baby due to the outward unusualness of dishes – funny chopped vegetables in soup, pancakes of various shapes, patterns on mashed potatoes.

If a cultural trip is planned, and you managed to buy tickets for a children’s performance or a Christmas tree only for a daytime performance, try to make sure that the baby does not dine with cotton candy or chocolate. It is better to have a quality meal at home, on the track. If it’s too early, and the baby categorically refuses soup, offer him a glass of broth with crackers, a vegetable or fruit salad. It is not worth overloading him with food, otherwise he will simply fall asleep on the road or during the performance. You can take an apple, a banana, juice with a straw, drinking yogurt with you, and it is better to bypass the buffet with all its temptations.

Is the trip planned in such a way that you will be back by lunchtime? – Excellent: in half an hour you will have time to cook a wonderful vegetable soup. And a variety of egg dishes are a lifesaver at any time of the day.

If you return for an afternoon snack, prepare thick semolina porridge in the morning, pour it into a bowl, and then refrigerate. Arrived – turned over on a plate, the resulting “kulichik” can only be poured with jam, compote with berries or jelly.

Try not to plan several activities outside the home for one day. The baby may be tired and fussy. Before an evening trip, let him have a good night’s sleep. Specify in advance whether there will be a children’s table, if not – feed the child at home, and take dried fruits, nuts or the same yogurt with you, or go “fully armed” by preparing a thermos with children’s food: let the baby sit at the common table, but eat their dishes, and adults can “try” from his plate and, smacking their lips, say: “Oh, what delicious steam cutlets Vanya has!”

Going to visit, categorically warn the hosts that you should not give the child sweets or salads soaked in mayonnaise. And in no case do not allow tipsy guests to offer the baby a “lick” of alcohol.

So, the main rule for the weekend is not to let the child “grab” unnecessary products and, if possible, not to break the diet, because on Monday he will again begin his everyday life according to a strict schedule.

And a few more important rules:

1. Even on weekends, the interval between meals of the child should not exceed four hours.

2. The percentage of nutrition from the daily volume of food: breakfast – 25%, lunch – 40%, afternoon tea – 10-15%, dinner – 25%
