Band Row. Which Grip Should I Choose: Straight Grip or Reverse Grip?

The use of different types of grip when performing traction to the belt in an incline radically changes the entire kinesiology scheme of the exercise.

When you grab the bar with a traditional straight grip, your elbows involuntarily “spread apart” when lifting the bar. As a result, the load is shifted to the upper back and rear bundles of deltas. So no matter how heavy your barbell is, it won’t add much to your lats. Meanwhile, it is this basic thrust that is widely recommended for increasing the total mass of the back. As you now understand, this recommendation is erroneous.

In order for the traction to load the widest and especially their lower region, you need to take the barbell with a reverse grip. You can keep your elbows narrow, and this determines the success of the exercise. Remember that with any grip, traction should be done not with the strength of the hands, but with “elbows”.
