Caprese Salad – Assorted Tomatoes

Caprese salad is very popular and loved by many for its ease of preparation. In this recipe, Jamie Oliver will show his variation of making a salad. Same way
in his recipe, he recommends using more different varieties of tomatoes to make the taste more intense.

Ingredients
250 g mozzarella cheese
350 g ripe tomatoes of different types
350 g cherry tomatoes
30 g parmesan cheese
2 bunches fresh basil
1 tbsp pine nuts
1/2 garlic clove
half a lemon
extra virgin olive oil
sea ​​salt and black pepper

1. Let’s start our caprese salad recipe by making pesto sauce. Rinse the basil, then chop it coarsely (stems with leaves). Peel the garlic and place along with the basil, pine nuts and 80 ml of olive oil in a blender.

2. Grate the Parmesan cheese and add the lemon juice to the same in the blender, then blend according to the recipe for 30 seconds, or until smooth.

3. Taste and season if necessary, then spread the pesto all over the platter for our Caprese salad. For fun, you can turn on the creative nature and how Jamie Oliver draws simple patterns on the plate with sauce.

4. Dry the mozzarella and tear into small pieces, then spread them evenly over the dish on top of the pesto.

5. Cut the tomatoes into chunks about the size of a mozzarella and arrange nicely on a platter.

6. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and sprinkle them on top.

7. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, season with salt and pepper, then toss everything together and serve the caprese salad on the table, garnishing with the remaining basil leaves.
