Recipe Pie with Walnuts and Coffee Syrup

We will cook a walnut pie from half of yesterday’s loaf. So, finely cut the bread and grind it in a blender, then do the same with 100 g of walnuts and mix them with bread crumbs. Beat 5 yolks and 100 g sugar until the mass brightens and increases in volume, and then add it to the nut-bread mixture. We got the real dough, although we did not plan to make it – and all thanks to the loaf, which can become the basis for any pie and even cake. And now we will make the dough more airy. Beat 5 egg whites, adding a pinch of salt to them, and gently fold into the bread and nut base. We grease a small deep baking sheet or form with oil, spread the dough and put the baking sheet for half an hour in the oven, heated to 190 degrees. While the nut cake is baking, prepare coffee sauce from 1.5 cups of natural coffee, 3 tbsp. l. brown sugar and 3 stars of star anise. The sauce slowly cooks, thickens slightly and turns into a fragrant caramel. Pour the sauce over the pie without taking it out of the mold, decorate with 200 g of whipped cream 35% fat. It is eaten quickly and sometimes there is nothing left in the evening – it is too tasty!
