Blueberry jam

In the season of a variety of berries, at the height of the blueberry season, it’s time to stock up on tasty and healthy jam for the winter. I offer an easy-to-prepare recipe for blueberry jam, which turns out to be moderately sweet and with a pleasant sourness.

If desired, you can take more sugar – for 1 kg of berries you can use 1 kg of sugar. But for my taste, it turns out too sweet, so I use less sugar. Although when using more sugar, the jam is better stored. If you take less sugar, the workpiece should be stored in a cool place.

Ingredients:

Blueberries 1 kg
Sugar 600 g
Blueberry Jam Recipe:

1. Rinse blueberries with water, remove small leaves and twigs. You can not wash blueberries if you picked them yourself with clean hands and if there are no leaves that need to be removed. Cover the berries with sugar and leave for 4-5 hours, you can leave it overnight.
2. Before making jam, sterilize jars and lids, put them on a clean towel. How I sterilize jars and lids, I told in the recipe for raspberry jam.

3. The berries have released juice, now you can put them on fire. Bring the berries with sugar to a boil and, stirring occasionally, cook for 5-7 minutes. The foam that forms during cooking can be partially removed.
4. Pour the finished hot jam into sterile jars and roll up the lids. For more complete sterilization and leak testing, turn the jars upside down and leave to cool.
Healthy and delicious blueberry jam is ready! It is better to store such jam in a cool place – in the cellar or in the refrigerator.
