Nutrition for a breastfeeding mother during the first month

From the menu, we have excluded all allergenic and colic-causing products in newborns. Try to use only high quality products. If you do not have your own garden, then it is better to buy village vegetables and fruits, meat, milk and sour cream, since a child may be allergic to pesticides and fertilizers used on an industrial scale. Choose fruits and vegetables that are in season to avoid unwanted nitrates.

So, what can a nursing mother eat in the first month? We present you a detailed menu for the first week after childbirth!

Breastfeeding menu for the first week
Proper nutrition of a nursing mother in the first month is very important for the health and well-being of the baby. On the first day after childbirth, it is advisable to limit yourself in nutrition, you can even starve. But it has nothing to do with shedding the weight gained during pregnancy. Fasting will allow the body to rest and cleanse itself. Drink more fluids: compotes, fruit drinks, herbal teas. For example, nettle tea has a hemostatic effect, and parsley tea has a tonic effect.

Nutrition tips for the first month
Often, mothers in the first month after childbirth face a delicate problem – constipation. In this case, add to the menu (and follow the reaction of the child) bran, seaweed (not canned), beets, prunes. Also, with constipation, thick compote can be added to the diet of nursing mothers in the first month.

For the formation of a healthy intestinal microflora in the first month after childbirth, special attention should be paid to natural fermented milk products containing bifidus and lactobacilli (probiotics).

On the eighth and subsequent days after birth, you can increase the amount and frequency of food consumed. The diet should be as varied as possible from what nursing mothers are allowed to eat. Therefore, in the first month, feel free to combine the menu that we presented.

And in conclusion, I would like to say that the nutrition of a nursing mother in the first month after childbirth is not the time for experiments. No need to take risks, you will still have time to enjoy your favorite dishes, because the health of the child is laid from the first days of life. Also, do not go hungry, eat more often, but little by little, because on a full stomach there is less chance of being tempted into something harmful! And when the baby is a month old, new foods can be introduced into the diet.
