Green tea

Green tea is an unfermented tea that contains a large amount of extractive and beneficial substances. It may be the greatest addition to a bodybuilder’s arsenal as a fat-burning and metabolic-boosting product. Green tea also helps protect the human body from certain types of cancer. Green tea has been used for thousands of years in Asia as a digestive aid. You can help digestion by drinking a cup of green tea after eating. The benefits of green tea Green tea contains the following components: Tannins (theotannins) – a group of compounds of simple and complex phenols, polyphenols, flavonoid compounds and their derivatives, refers to tannins. Vegetable tannins are resistant to fermentation or digestion. It is tannin that forms the taste of tea, giving the tea drink a pleasant astringency. High quality tea contains much more tannin than low quality teas. Tannin has an antioxidant, general tonic, antibacterial, capillary-strengthening, immunostimulating, moderately diuretic, hypotensive effect, slightly suppresses appetite, burns fat and lowers blood sugar levels. Catechin is a polyphenol compound with antioxidant properties. In green tea, catechins are present in significant amounts, in particular the types: EC (epicatechin), EGC (epigalocatechin), ECG (epicatechin gallate) and EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate). EGCG makes up about 10–50% of the total and is the most potent catechin. Epigallocatechin gallate has 25 to 100 times more antioxidant activity than vitamins C and E. Catechins aid digestion, increase body resistance, and strengthen blood vessel walls. Due to antioxidant activity, muscle breakdown is reduced. Flavonoids are natural polyphenols. They have the ability to strengthen the walls of capillaries, protect the body from infection, and play an important role in the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Flavonoid deficiency can lead to bruising. Theanine is an amino acid that has a tranquilizing effect on the brain. Promotes focus and calm without lowering motivation and mental performance. Some studies support the ability of theanine to enhance the body’s immunity.
