1. INTRODUCTION
The Fellowship of Self-Realization Instructions are composed of two different parts. One part, or the main part, is the discoveries made by Swami Yogananda, and the second part consists of information coming from the ancient sages of India, adapted by Swami Yogananda for the people of the West.
Swami Yogananda received his title "Swami" from his Grand Master Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri of Bengal. The title "Swami" means "master" or one who seeks to transform and perfect himself and can only be given to a qualified disciple only by one who himself is a Swami and who continues the tradition of initiation into Swami from the seventh century CE, when the great sage India Shri Shankaracharya reorganized the ancient "Swami" order in India.
Swami Yogananda belongs to the Sat-Sanga order in India. Sat-Sanga means "fellowship with truth" and one of the main goals of this organization is to establish an international community of goodwill and mutual understanding. Swami Yogananda brought the ideals of the Sat-Sanga order to America, and now his teaching is called the "Self-Realization Fellowship Movement".
The first school for teaching self-realization methods was founded by Swami Yogananda in India, at Rangi, in Bengal. Later, two more schools were opened in Puri and Vankuri in Bengal. Since 1920 year, Swami Yogananda continues to organize training on a large scale in the United States of America. When Swami Yogananda made the great discovery that individual energy could be connected to the unlimited storehouse of Cosmic Energy, he found that the correct application of this knowledge could have a positive effect on overcoming illness and improving ill health.
But the possession of perfect health does not constitute perfect happiness, nor is it the ultimate goal of all human life. Human nature consists of three parts. Therefore, Swami Yogananda became convinced that every system of training, which can truly be considered universal and comprehensive, must contain methods by which a person can improve in various aspects - in physical, mental and spiritual respects.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit after he left. The Holy Spirit is an invisible spiritual vibration, which is the Word, or OM, or Cosmic Vibration, the Great Comforter, the Redeemer from all troubles. In order to know how to get in touch with this Cosmic Vibration, or Holy Spirit, in the following lessons a special technique will be taught to awaken your spiritual evolution (development), known as "Kriya".

2. TUNNEL TO ETERNITY
Your consciousness needs to pass through the telescopic tunnel of the celestial shell (shell) in order to reach eternity.
limited consciousness
Suppose you were born and raised within the confines of a well-ventilated large room, but the windows and doors are closed in such a way that you can never see the sky; this room will then seem to you your only world, and it will be the largest room for you in your understanding. But if someone after 20 years that you have lived in this room would tell you that there is even more space around this room of yours, then you would not believe him and would laugh at him. However, if suddenly some small window in your room were opened and you saw the breadth and expanses of the sky and the ocean, then you would probably be very, very surprised.
Even a chicken expands its knowledge. The chicken lives in the egg yolk under the egg shell, considering the space limited by the shell as the whole world that exists for him. But when it hatches through this shell that limits him, then a large, unknown world appears before him, opening up to him.
Be a human chicken
In exactly the same way, you are a human chicken, living in the yolk of this world, bounded by a heavenly blue shell of a sky dotted with stars. You think that this sky-bound world you see is the little space you are in. But suppose you could break that heavenly shell with your consciousness and look into the territory of your heavenly Father himself, then you could see myriads of suns and the star system with its worlds rushing about like dust particles in the boundless void of space.

Forget your limitations
The idea that limits your consciousness is that as often as you look at your small body, you cannot help but think that you are limited in shape, a few feet in size, and that you bodily weigh several tens of kilograms. This idea is the one that connects you with your body and its limitations, with grief, poverty, disease and ignorance. The spirit is a room of boundless space, without walls, which is decorated with countless shining stars and the light of billions of planetary lamps. If you are created in the image and likeness of God, then you need to forget all your limitations and consider yourself a value united with God, thus ending all your suffering, limitations and misfortunes. The little birdhouse that limits your omnipresent consciousness is your body. When you begin to love your family, neighbors and the whole world, then your consciousness comes out of this birdhouse of your own bodily limitations, and when you observe the heavens and feel spread throughout their wide space, then your consciousness expands even more.
Do not look for a beggarly portion
The more you care about the little things in life that your body needs, the smaller and more limited you become until you die from unfulfilled hopes. The law says that the beggar receives only the beggar's portion, which he asks for and which is given to him by chance happiness, but the Divine Son receives his kindred right, which consists of receiving the full omnipresent Kingdom of God with all created things in it.
The expansion of consciousness depicted in the Bible
Jesus Christ said:
My kingdom is not of this world.
He was the happiest of all the rich people in the world because He could feed 5,000 people with five fish, and also because He could perform other great miracles that no one else could perform. He had both material wealth, so was God, and being with Him, Jesus was everything. He said:
Foxes have holes and birds have nests, and the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.
Jesus did not complain that he had nowhere to live, but He spoke of His Omnipresent Soul, which could not be confined in a house or a nest. He lived everywhere, both in eternal space and in every little corner of space. Living everywhere, He could not limit the boundless wisdom of His head and His consciousness to small rooms.
The right of your divine kinship
You need to change your position as a mortal beggar to that of a Divine Son, and instead of humble prayer, you should pray for the rights of a child of God who is born in the image and likeness of God. You must first of all seek the lost Kingdom of God, and then all the material and spiritual things that you need and desire will be given to you as your divine inheritance. As a mortal, limited and impoverished being, you first of all sought bread and money, and therefore you experienced great difficulties in order to provide yourself even with this. God and all created things do not come along with receiving material goods, but they come only when they first of all want to know God, seek the Kingdom of God. Bread and all other things are then automatically made by your slaves when you have found God. This is the simplest, surest and correct way by which you can fulfill all your desires. Therefore, the following technique will have an impact on your mortal limitations and transform your consciousness to the consciousness of yourself
