Noyemberyan

Noyemberyan (arm. Նոյեմբերյան) is a city in the north-east of Armenia in the Tavush region.

Geography
Located 191 km from Yerevan and 4 km from the village of Koghb on the Yerevan-Tbilisi branch. A few kilometers from the city is the border with Azerbaijan. Near the city are the villages of Koghb, Doveh and Dzhujevan.
To the south of the city are the slopes of the Voskepar ridge, to the north and west – the Gugarats ridge. Noyemberyan is located in a mountainous area, on the northeastern slope of the Gugark mountain range, 22 km southeast of the Ayrum railway station. About 5 km to the west is the locality of Srotsaank, from where in the past a whetstone was exported to Persia and Turkey. Nearby there are churches, an ancient place of settlement, a fortress, cemeteries. Before the 1917 revolution, Noyemberyan was part of the Gazakh province. Since 1938 it has been the administrative center of the district of the same name. Noyemberyan has hotels, restaurants, two churches, one elementary and one secondary school, a music school, a sports school, kindergartens, colleges, a cinema, a TV studio, a medical center, a cafe, a children’s cafe. Nearby are the monasteries of St. Sargis and Mshkavank.

The climate is subtropical. The average air humidity in summer is 57-63%, in winter – 80-82%. The wind speed ranges from 4.5 to 5.2 m/s.
The Noyemberyan region has long been famous for high-quality peaches growing there.
