Mallawi

Mullavi, pl. Mallawi (Egyptian Arabic ملوى‎, Coptic ⲙⲁⲛⲗⲁⲩ) is a city in Egypt, located in the governorate of Minya, on the left bank of the Nile, about 40 km south of the city of El Minya. Population 140,215 inhabitants. An important center of agriculture. The industry is represented by textile enterprises.

Crafts developed. The city has preserved many monuments of ancient Egypt. Tuna El-Gabal necropolis is located 15 km from the city, where catacombs with tombs and mummies of hawks, cats and other sacred animals of Ancient Egypt have been preserved.
