Weather

The climate in Liechtenstein is dominated by temperate continental, some regions are characterized by an alpine climate zone, which softens under the influence of moist and warm sea breezes. Winter in the country is quite cool, although there are no severe frosts. Almost the entire winter period is accompanied by strong winds, which are associated with multidirectional movement of air masses from the sea. The level of annual precipitation is 1300 millimeters. The summer months in Liechtenstein are also characterized by moderate temperatures. There is no sweltering heat here, and regular rainfall does not spoil the weather. Basically, every summer day is sunny and cloudless.
In the middle and at the end of summer, strong winds are observed on the territory of Liechtenstein, which are accompanied by sharp pressure drops. Please note that due to the multidirectional movement of air masses on different slopes of the same mountains, there can be completely different weather. The sky is covered with clouds, precipitation falls regularly (rarely snow), strong gusts of wind are possible. January in Liechtenstein is considered the coldest month of the year. In some regions, the air temperature can drop down to 4 degrees below zero. January is also characterized by fog, heavy rains and snow, which does not linger for a long time on the surface.
