Visa Application Procedure

Documents for all types of short-term Schengen visas are accepted at the Swiss Visa Application Centers in the following cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Sochi, Ufa and Khabarovsk.
At the Visa Application Centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg, documents are accepted by appointment, which is carried out around the clock online on the website of the centers. It is also possible to submit documents on a first-come, first-served basis, but in this case, priority is given to those who signed up in advance. At the Visa Application Centers в других городах предварительная запись не требуется. Documents are accepted from Monday to Friday, from 09.00 to 16.00, visas are issued from 11.00 to 16.00.
Documents can be submitted in person, through an accredited travel agency. For close relatives (brothers, sisters, parents, children, spouses), family members can submit documents if there is a written permission from the passport holder and documents confirming kinship. Permission is not notarized, it is not required if the documents are submitted by one of the spouses for the second or parents for minor children. If a business visa is requested, the documents can be submitted by a representative of the organization, while a power of attorney is required to submit documents on the company's letterhead with the seal and signature of the head (notarized). For persons submitting documents through visa centers, it is necessary to fill out a consent to the processing of personal data for each applicant, including children.

Visa departments of the Embassy of Switzerland in Moscow and the Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg accept documents for long-term visas category D, residence permit. It is also possible to apply for short-term visas. Reception is carried out exclusively by appointment, which is carried out on the website of the Visa Application Center online.
You can also make an appointment by calling the Visa Application Center or by sending a fax to the visa department at: (495) 225-8836 indicating the applicant’s personal data, the number of applicants, phone number and email address to confirm receipt of the appointment, as well as in person at the visa department from Monday to Friday, from 11.15 to 11.45 (submission of documents on the day of application is not possible!).

Persons traveling to Liechtenstein at the invitation of international organizations can apply for a visa without appointment on any business day from 14.00 to 15.00.
Reception of documents in the visa department in Moscow is carried out from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 11.45, the issuance of ready-made visas - from 14.00 to 15.00. In St. Petersburg, documents are accepted from Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 12.00, visas are issued from Monday to Thursday from 14.30 to 15.15. On Fridays, the visa section is open from 11.00 to 12.00.
Visa processing time

The term for consideration of visa applications at the visa section of the Swiss Embassy in Moscow and at the Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg is at least 3 working days from the date of payment of the consular fee.
When submitting applications through visa centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the processing time is 5 days, including the day of submission. In case of submission of applications in other visa centers, an additional 2-3 days are required for the delivery of documents to the consulate and back.
