Consulate, Visa

What kind of visa do you need for Andorra?
A visa to Andorra, of course, is needed. However, there are some features of its receipt. Andorra is not part of the Schengen area, but has a special political status, being under the auspices of Spain and France. That is why a visa of France or Spain or any other state of the Schengen zone is suitable for entering the country – moreover, a double or multiple entry visa.
If you intend to go specifically to Andorra, for example, on vacation at one of its resorts, then a visa is issued directly at the consulates of Spain or France. In any case, you will enter Andorra through one of these countries, since Andorra does not have its own airport or railway. The procedure for obtaining a visa to Andorra is absolutely the same as for a standard Schengen visa. And the list of documents that need to be submitted can be found on the website of the consulate you plan to apply to.
Nuances when applying for a visa yourself
If you are going to apply for a visa to Andorra on your own, and not through visa centers or travel agencies, you should consider the following nuances:
the regulated languages for completing the questionnaire are English and Spanish;
Passport must be at least 4 months old;
if the passport is new, then along with it it is necessary to submit a copy of the old one, where there are Schengen visas;
photos should be matte, with a solid background;
it will be necessary to enter in the questionnaire not only the mobile number, but also, without fail, a work and landline phone, if any;
for a child traveling with one of the parents, you need to have permission to leave the country, issued by the second parent in the form determined by the consulate and notarized;
when applying for a visa for the first time, it is necessary to confirm the presence of movable and immovable property in the territory of the native country;
you need to confirm your financial well-being, namely that you have 50 euros per day throughout your stay in Andorra – as a rule, this is a bank statement;
health insurance should cover the costs associated with urgent hospitalization and transportation to the home country;
Traveling retirees need to provide proof of the income of the person sponsoring the trip, proof of identity, sponsorship letter and, of course, a copy of their retirement certificates.
You also need to remember that since September 2015, the procedure for fingerprinting (fingerprints are taken) and digital photography has been introduced when obtaining a Schengen visa. And if you are going to apply for a visa for the first time after this innovation, then you need to come personally with the documents. Then this data is stored in the database for 5 years.
If you apply on your own, the cost of a visa to Andorra will cost you €35 – this is a consular fee. For a child under 6 years old who does not have his own passport, the visa is free.
If you plan to stay in Andorra for more than 90 days within six months, you need to open not a Schengen, but a national visa. This can be done at the Andorran embassy in Paris, Madrid or other diplomatic missions, where a completed application form, 4 photos and a photocopy of the first page of the passport are provided.

Attention! Andorra does not have its own representative office in Russia, so for visa issues, please contact the Spanish Embassy.
