Balad (Arabic: بلد‎) is a city in central Iraq, in the Salah ad-Din governorate. The administrative center of the district of the same name.

Geographic location
The city is located in the southeastern part of the governorate, on the right bank of the Tigris River valley. The absolute height is 52 meters above sea level.
Balad is located approximately 75 kilometers southeast of Tikrit, the provincial capital, and 70 kilometers north-northwest (NNW) of Baghdad, the country’s capital.
