Vanklu

Vyangli (Azerbaijani Vəngli) Vank (Armenian Վանք) is a village in Transcaucasia. According to the administrative-territorial division of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which actually controls the village, it is located in the Martakert region of the NKR, according to the administrative-territorial division of Azerbaijan – in the Kelbajar region of Azerbaijan. The village is located on the left bank of the Khachinchay River. The population of the village is 1284 people, mostly Armenians. Near the village is the active monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Gandzasar, which is the most famous monastery among tourists in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The village is developing at a faster pace and is able to provide jobs even for residents of neighboring villages, and visiting tourists helps to solve the issue of marketing agricultural products. Charitable worker Levon Hayrapetyan plays a very important role in the development and restoration of the village. The village has a woodworking plant, two hotels, a recreation area. A large reservoir is being built in the village.

Economy
The economy of the village was completely destroyed during the Karabakh conflict, but in the post-war period, a native of the village Levon Hayrapetyan undertook to restore it. A new road was built in the village to the Gandzasar monastery, the monastery was also restored, a modern school was built with a swimming pool, a football field, an Internet class, with the latest equipment, a large three-story kindergarten, a parquet factory, an Eclectic hotel, the hotel “Tsoven Kar” was restored, a stable with horse riding was created, the restaurant “Van Gogh”, several cafes, many monuments, sculptures were built, and the village also got its own radio station “Radio Vank”

Interesting facts
In 2010, the Italian singer Al Bano visited the village of Vank at the invitation of the entrepreneur and philanthropist Levon Hayrapetyan, where he gave a concert, and then visited the Gandzasar monastery complex.
Every year, donkey races are held in Vank, which have become a fun tradition for the Vank people. The event is held thanks to the philanthropist Levon Hayrapetyan, the prize fund is 2000 US dollars. The event is often attended by dignitaries. Singer Al Bano came to donkey races, singing after the show.
