Santo Domingo or Santo Domingo de los Colorados (Spanish: Santo Domingo) is a city in Ecuador, located approximately 130 kilometers west of the country’s capital Quito, on the western border of the Andes, the center of the province of Santo Domingo de los-Tsachilas. The fourth largest city in the country.

Geography
Santo Domingo is located in the northwest of Ecuador, in the western foothills of the Andes, 120 kilometers from the Pacific coast. Height above sea level – 625 meters. The city is located in a zone of humid tropical climate with high rainfall, the area around the city is covered with tropical rainforests. The equator is only 27 kilometers north.
