For kids

Children in Chamonix are at ease. Huge “paddling pools” occupy a decent area along the edges of the valley. It is safe here – a fenced area and its own network of lifts. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, sledding and tobogganing are also enjoyed here, as well as children’s playgrounds. There are no problems with hot meals – there are cafes and restaurants nearby. Many adults – parents, instructors, educators, nannies.
In short, in Chamonix you can not only spend time with your family, but also leave your child in the care of local staff for half a day or even a day.

Ski courses in ski schools are held for children from 3 years old, snowboarding – from 8. Communication is mainly in English and French. There are Russian-speaking instructors at the ESF de Chamonix school, which also has two children’s clubs Piu-Piou (Les Piou-Piou in Le Plenar) and Le Savoy.
Clubs accept children from 3 to 12 years old, kindergartens – 3-5 year olds.

There is a children’s pool with a water slide at the Richard Bozon Sports Center (Sentre Sportif Richard Bozon). However, not only the pool, but also a climbing wall and an indoor ice rink with rentals for children and adults (address: 214 Avenue de la Plage). Nearby is the city’s outdoor skating rink with its own rental, restaurant and bar. Another outdoor skating rink is located in Les Houches, and there is the climbing center Mont Blanc Escalade, where children’s courses are held.
For snowshoeing, 17 km of trails around Chamonix-Mont-Blanc are marked. To make the walk especially interesting for children, take a guide for half a day, or join a group. Snowshoes are available at any rental.
