Ear piercing

Ear piercing, even in a non-standard place, no longer surprises anyone, this is one of the most common types of piercing.

But the main advice for those who decide to pierce their ears is that a cosmetologist with at least a secondary medical education should perform the procedure. After all, you need not only to find the “right” point, but also to choose the metal so that there are no health problems, then a beautiful ear piercing will only give you pleasure.

There are not too many contraindications to ear piercing, but still there are:

tendency to allergic reactions;
cystic acne;
blood diseases;
eczema.
Types of ear piercings
There are many types of ear piercings. Consider the most popular.

Standard earlobe piercing. It is the most painless and the oldest type of piercing. It has been pierced for over 5,000 years.
Ear piercing – helix. It is a puncture of the upper part of the cartilage of the ear. The puncture is quite painful, it is pierced only with a special needle and heals from 1 to 4 months.
Tunneling of the soft tissues of the ear. The soft tissues of the ear are the earlobe and adjacent tissues. There are 2 types of tunneling: stretching and slotting. In the first case, the ear will return to its original shape on its own after some time, and in the second case, the ear will need to be sewn together in an operating room.
Ear piercing – tragus. Tragus is a puncture made in a small ledge above the entrance to the inner ear. It brings quite severe pain, it can bleed heavily for 5-7 minutes without stopping. Heals completely in 6 weeks, but needs daily treatment for another six months. An abrette earring is placed in the tragus (with a spike or ball on one side and a flat “pancake” on the other), but a horseshoe or ring can also be inserted.
Antitragus. It is made in a place where a small cartilaginous protrusion peeps out above the deepening of the auricle. This is a horizontal and very painful puncture. With proper care, it heals in a few months. The earring is made of surgical steel, resembling a barbell, only shorter and smaller. Spikes at the ends of the bar are not recommended – they can grow into the skin, causing painful complications.
Ear piercing – industrial. Industrial means double puncture. That is, two punctures are made on the bend of the ear so that a long barbell can be placed through them. Pretty agonizing procedure. It can bleed a lot, especially for the upper puncture, since hard cartilage is rich in blood vessels and capillaries. The puncture heals in about three months. But only on condition that the client takes proper care of the piercing. Otherwise, the punctures will begin to rot and hurt very badly, preventing you from falling asleep. Suppuration can result in sepsis, because pus that enters the bloodstream causes chemical reactions and rejection, which leads to adverse consequences for the body.
Cross industrial. Two industrials are made crosswise. Looks exciting, but it’s better not to pierce two industrials at once, as the ear can be very deformed due to the pressure of the earrings.

Ear piercing jewelry
In addition to the usual earrings for ear piercing, plugs, stretch marks, tunnels, spirals, brackets, as well as dilators made of high quality titanium, plastic, special surgical steel, bone or stone are used.

Ear piercing care
To prevent infection from getting into the wound, piercers do not recommend swimming in open public reservoirs for a month after the piercing. Do not use other people’s phones. Wipe your ear with antiseptic solutions and follow all the recommendations of the master.
