Do I need travel insurance for Guernsey?
In accordance with the current legislation of Guernsey, the migration officer has the right to require the incoming tourist to provide medical insurance issued in accordance with established standards. In the absence of an insurance policy, the traveler may be denied entry to the border of the state.
The requirements that an insurance policy for traveling abroad must meet are as follows:
the minimum amount of coverage for medical expenses cannot be less than 30,000 euros;
the policy must cover the entire period and territory of stay;
There should not be a franchise in the policy.
It is recommended to make insurance no later than 5 days before departure.
What risks are covered by the insurance policy
What does it cover
The basic insurance option covers the following cases:
Payment for ambulance services and delivery of the insured to the hospital (to the doctor);
Outpatient and inpatient treatment within the amount of insurance coverage;
Transportation to the state of permanent residence in case of urgent need;
Reimbursement of funds spent on the purchase of medicines;
Reimbursement of funds spent on phone calls to the assistance company;
Repatriation of the body and remains.
What does not cover
Insurance does not cover:
treatment of chronic diseases;
treatment of poisoning and injuries that occurred before the entry into force of the insurance contract;
treatment of sexually transmitted diseases;
treatment of mental illness and trauma resulting from exacerbations of mental illness.
Insurance events that occur as a result of:

alcohol, toxic or drug intoxication of the insured;
terrorist attacks, popular uprisings, riots, strikes, coups, etc.;
