The most impressive and interesting in the city is the Historical Museum with a collection of religious and maritime artifacts, models of ships and household items of the islanders, fishing tackle, navigational and agricultural tools from the time of the Vikings to the present day.
On the northern edge of Vjoarlin Park lies Listaskalin, the Faroese Museum of Art, with an excellent collection of paintings and sculptures. It also hosts theatrical and musical performances and exhibitions.
