Customs

When traveling directly to Switzerland, you do not cross the EU border, as this country has not joined the convention for a united Europe. However, Schengen rules apply in Switzerland. Checks of documents and luggage are carried out both at customs and on transport when moving through the country, they are carried out selectively, and serious punishment shines for violations of laws.
Entry rules

Adult foreigners (from 18 years old) can bring:

250 gr. pure dried tobacco;
10 packs of cigarettes;
50 large cigars;
1 liter of alcohol with an amount of alcohol above 22%;
2 liters of light alcohol.

This does not mean that you can bring everything from the list, you are allowed to choose one of the alcohol and tobacco products.

Money can be brought into Switzerland without any restrictions, but the amount above 10,000 € must be declared. Similar rules apply to export. Items of cultural and artistic value must also be included in the declaration upon entry.

It is allowed to bring without completing the declaration:

sports equipment, incl. ski;
musical instruments;
personal items, incl. photo and video equipment;
gifts worth less than 100 francs.

Forbidden:

meat and dairy products and any products containing these components;
absinthe;
plants, flowers (including in pots), seeds;
firearms and cartridges for it;
poisons, drugs;
wild animals, their skins, horns;
medicines containing substances classified as narcotic.

Owners of Swiss watches should be careful. If you’re not 100% sure they’re real, it’s best to leave them at home. Counterfeits will be confiscated.
Exceptions

Medicines can be imported if you have a prescription for their use. It is allowed to import baby food and products for patients on a special diet, in an amount not exceeding two days of consumption. They must be packaged in complete packaging.

You can import up to two sporting and hunting rifles per person without a special license, subject to the presentation of documentary evidence of their intended use (for example, a hunting tour voucher). For smoothbore guns, up to 500 pieces of ammunition are allowed. For rifled – 250 rounds for a gun and the same for a sporting pistol. For a hunting rifle – 50 ammunition. If you need to bring more, you must obtain permission from the Swiss police.
Transportation of animals

Dogs and cats must be vaccinated at least 30 days before travel. Rabies vaccination is mandatory, other vaccinations must be inquired in advance. At the same time, the animal must be microchipped with an electronic device and provided with an electronic passport. The chip will be scanned and fixed on the border. A veterinary certificate must be attached to the passport.
Export

Switzerland does not set strict restrictions. The exception is Swiss cheese. If you are carrying more than 15 kg of this product, the goods must be entered in the declaration. Items of cultural and artistic value, watches and gold must also be declared.

If you have checks from Tax-free with the data entered in them from your passport, at the airport or upon arrival home, you will be refunded 7% of the cost of goods, the total amount of which exceeds 300 francs.
Swiss visa

It is put in the same way as any Schengen. It requires a passport, insurance policy and other certificates. Switzerland does not issue urgent visas, everything happens on a general basis on a first-come, first-served basis.
