Prices in Bulgaria are reasonable, even a little lower than in Russia, and alcoholic drinks are at least twice cheaper than in our country – the large number of vineyards – the basis for wine production – affects.

The main souvenir brought by tourists from Bulgaria is Rakia (Bulgarian vodka). You can choose exactly what you like from a huge assortment of brandy, but we advise you to purchase Muscat brandy, which has a great aroma. It can be of different manufacturers, but the main thing is that it should be exactly nutmeg. It is inexpensive – from 2 to 7 leva.

The second most popular souvenir is mastic. This is an exotic drink with a touch of marshmallow grass. At first you may not like it, but then – having tasted it, you will appreciate its mild taste and fall in love with this exotic. It is better to buy Peristera mastic – 42 degrees. The locals also call it luxury. This drink has one unusual feature – when you add a little water to it, it will immediately turn milky white. And if you mix mastic with beer, you get a cocktail that has a gloomy name – “Corpse”.

Foreigners from Bulgaria like to bring embroidered clothes, linen fabrics, perfumes from the Valley of Roses or rose oil in wooden bottles, rugs, handmade copper, silver and leather items, small icons of 50 stotinki each are very popular, and lace napkins with embroidery – 20 leva each.

In Varna, you will have the opportunity to make a lot of bargains. Here, at the end of the season, as in other resort towns in Bulgaria, good discounts on quality items – T-shirts, shoes made in Turkey and Bulgaria, jeans, you can buy cheap gold of exclusive design and excellent quality.

There are many shops in Varna in the center, on the pedestrian zone and on Vladislav Varnenchik Boulevard. Much attention should be paid to the brand “Daphne and Blaga Blagoev”. In the boutiques of these firms, sales of old collections are often held, so you can dress up well for Bulgarian pennies. Bulgarian designer Blaga Blagoeva is also called the queen knitwear.

Another good Bulgarian company is Etere, which sells good women’s clothing and accessories, jeanswear. The address of the Etere store is Varna, Chataldzha street, house 22, 3rd floor, Motto district. The address of the shops of the company “Dafne” – Varna, Vl. Varnenchika house 277 and house 40 (2nd floor). The address of the designer Blaga Blagoeva’s shops is Varna, Vl. Varnenchika, house 36 (opposite the restaurant “Roshchok”), the second store is opposite the Varna community, near the restaurant “Khashov”.

Shops are usually open on weekdays, but in resort towns they are also open on weekends, until ten o’clock in the evening. Full of grocery stores offering their goods around the clock.

A popular place among tourists is the Women’s Market in Sofia. This is a huge, beautiful bazaar, with very low prices for vegetables, fruits and a host of other products. It is quite chaotic and you can buy absolutely everything here. For example, very tasty homemade halva. He works daily, until six in the evening. Located in the square between the boulevards “Slivnitsa”, “Kn. Maria-Louise”, “Hristo Botev” and “Tsar Simeon” street, on “Stefan Stambolov” boulevard.

There is also a huge open-air second-hand book market “Slaveykov” in Sofia. In addition to a large assortment of books and other printed materials, you can buy antiques here.

The book market is located in the city center, on Slaveykov Square between G.S. Rakovski” and “Six Septemvri”.

In general, the best shops in Sofia are located along Vitosha Boulevard and in the gallery in front of the Palace of Culture.

There is a very nice little shop in New Nessebar selling great Bulgarian leather shoes at ridiculous prices. In general, this city has a lot of good leather things – these are bags, winter and autumn jackets, jackets, belts, sandals and other types of shoes.

There is a good store in Burgas that is worth a visit. It sells children’s leather shoes of excellent quality, produced by the Bulgarian company Kolev & Kolev.

But in the city of Bansko there is the only supermarket that works both in winter and summer, it is called “Valan”, it is located at the entrance to the city, near the “Lukoil” column. You can buy absolutely everything in it, from cups and plates to cake and pastries.
