For tourist purposes, a temporary stay visa is usually used, which gives the right to visit Christmas Island for 3 months. Tourist visas are valid for up to 12 months.

Peculiarities
Additional vaccinations against typhoid and influenza must be done prior to arrival on the island.

An Australian visa sticker is not affixed to the applicant’s passport. As a visa confirmation, an e-mail or a regular letter is sent with all the details of the visa. It is recommended to print the letter.

If you plan to travel for more than 3 months, you need to have a chest x-ray done by doctors accredited by the embassy.
