Yardymly

Yardimli (Azerbaijani Yardımlı) is a city in Azerbaijan, the administrative center of the district of the same name. Located at the foot of the Talysh Mountains, on the left bank of the Vilyashchay River at an altitude of 720 meters above sea level; southwest of the Masalli railway station at a distance of 68 km.

According to the 1979 census, 3,114 people lived in Yardimli, and according to the 1989 census, 3,438 people. As of 2010, the city’s population is 6,700.

In Soviet times, it had the status of an urban-type settlement; in those days, a carpet weaving factory operated in Yardimly, which is currently inactive. The city has a history museum, a mosque and a war memorial.
