Cycling Clothing

Sneakers – regular shoes are a must when cycling if you are using hard-soled cycling shoes, in which case you give your feet the rest they need. Especially if there is a possibility that you will have to go through some parts of the bike route on foot.

Cycling shoes (cycling shoes) are shoes designed for better grip with contact pedals. Cycling shoes have a rigid sole with spikes located for different types of contact pedals.

A helmet is an essential accessory for any cyclist. A bicycle helmet performs the protective function of the head of a cyclist, so you cannot refuse it. In any emergency, a helmet increases the wearer’s chances of a positive outcome.

Balaclava – must be used with a helmet, it protects the head from moisture and dust, an ordinary bandana can be an alternative.

A rain coat is lightweight, so it is recommended to take it with you on a bike trip, even if you do not expect rain. A rain cape is very cheap, but it will protect you by an order of magnitude better than an expensive jacket.

Cycling gloves – will be useful to every cyclist. Gloves perform not only the function of protecting hands from blisters, scratches or cuts, but also significantly compensate for vibrations from cycling.

Glasses – it’s better, of course, to immediately choose high-quality bicycle glasses, but ordinary ones will fit in the first pair. Glasses are important because they protect the cyclist’s eyes not only from the sun, but also from insects, rain, dust and wind.

Rubber slippers are mandatory when the cycling route involves fording the river, in which case they are not replaceable. Otherwise, they are just comfortable to move around the summer camp.

A belt bag – just like a handlebar bag, allows you to more correctly mark important things on a bike trip. Thanks to the belt bag, you will have faster and more convenient access to your essentials. Moreover, it is safe to store all the most valuable things there.

Shoe covers – for a while will save your shoes and part of the leg below the knee from dirt and moisture. Of course, most shoe covers provide little protection, but they certainly won’t be superfluous, since they weigh little. An alternative to shoe covers are ordinary plastic bags.

Fleece jacket – deserves special attention, because with a small weight, this jacket warms very well. Many cyclists use fleece jackets, as in overnight stay, and on the way.

A hat – even light, but should be at any time of the year. Even in summer, often at night, the temperature drops a lot, and your head can freeze without a hat.

Handkerchief – it is recommended to keep it always at hand. It is required more for wiping sweat than for the nose.

Jacket – be sure to use bright jackets when cycling. The versatility of this element of the wardrobe allows you to use it in the summer, to protect from the wind and in other pores, to protect from the cold. Cyclists use jackets in bright colors to be more visible to car drivers. Over time, it is better to purchase a special bike jacket.

Shorts, pants, T-shirts, underpants and socks – the remaining elements of the cyclist’s wardrobe are quite simple and everyday, take enough of them that would probably be enough for the whole bike trip. In extreme cases, most of them can always be washed along the way. We recommend stocking up on warm socks.
