Clit

The genital organs of a woman include those that are directly related to the conception of a child, as well as its bearing and the process of childbirth. They are divided into external (vulva) and internal. Problems with their health, structural anomalies, can become an obstacle to successful motherhood.

The clitoris in women refers to the external organs, along with the large and small labia, the pubis, the entrance to the vagina. Also, in girls who are not yet sexually active, the hymen belongs to the vulva.

The structure of the female clitoris
This organ is a kind of analogue of the male penis, the development of which has stopped even in the prenatal state. It happened under the influence of hormonal levels.

First you need to figure out where the clitoris is in women. It is located between the labia minora (between their front parts). The cavernous body of the organ, which is divided over the urethra into 2 legs, and ends with the so-called bulbs (also 2 pieces). The female clitoris looks like an inverted Y.

This organ has a complex structure, but its main parts can be distinguished:
the head is a very sensitive part, as it contains many nerve endings and blood vessels;
the frenulum is a fold that connects the labia minora and the organ itself;
hood – part of the female clitoris, covering its head.
It can be seen that the structure of the organ is completely equivalent to the penis. The difference is the location of the urethra. In men, it is part of the structure of the penis, while in girls it is in front of the vagina.

The size of the female clitoris is individual and depends on individual characteristics. Typically, the head can reach a length of 1 cm or less. Its diameter can vary from 0.2 to 2 cm. With sexual arousal in many girls, the head of the clitoris increases, and immediately before orgasm decreases. The size of the organ itself does not affect a woman’s ability to experience satisfaction, as well as her libido.
The clitoris may be enlarged as a result of hormonal disorders that require the attention of a doctor.

Why does a woman need a clitoris?
Stimulation of this organ provides women with sexual pleasure. It is he who plays a key role in achieving orgasm. This is the strongest erogenous zone.

By virtue of different individual characteristics, the clitoris can be located at different distances from the entrance to the vagina. If the head is away, then in addition to friction during intercourse, a woman will need additional stimulation to get an orgasm. The peculiarity of this organ is that its only function is the concentration of sexual sensations.

Some people may be interested in the question of whether there are women without a clitoris. Sometimes its head is so small that it may seem that the organ is completely absent, but this is not so. In some congenital pathologies, there may be a violation of the structure of the genital organs.

There is also an operation to remove the clitoris. It is sometimes carried out for medical reasons, for example, with oncological ailments. However, a similar procedure is practiced in a number of African and Eastern countries. This medical intervention exposes girls to psychological and physical trauma. According to the results of a number of studies, it is known that after female circumcision, the risk of complications during the birth process increases. Human rights organizations are fighting against such a procedure without medical indications. At the moment, many girls in more than 30 countries are subjected to such mutilation.
