Proton, Proton

The Proton brand is a manufacturing company representing Malaysia in the global automotive market. Proton has been manufacturing cars under a Mitsubishi license since 1983, when for the first time agreements were signed between this Malaysian company and the Japanese Mitsubishi, which led to a fruitful and long-term cooperation.

In 1985, the Proton Saga was introduced to the public, which was nothing more than a more modern and locally adapted version of the 1983 Lancer.
The start of Proton was quite successful, and for several years in a row the company worked and developed steadily, expanding the sales market for its products and mastering new segments of the car market (such as the production of vehicles for countries with left-hand traffic).

In 1991, a turning point in the history of the company came – it became free from the influence of Mitsubishi Motor Corp., which became a new impetus for further development.
The release of the Proton Perdana (a variation of the Mitsubishi Eterna) is one of the company’s most successful auto projects. Then the subsequent no less successful was the release of the 300 series based on the Mitsubishi Colt, which, although they were small-sized, were quite roomy and comfortable, which allowed them to win over customers.
Another notable car in the production of the company was the Proton – Persona, launched in 1998. First of all, this car attracted motorists with its improved suspension, which, due to its structure, improved contact with the road. This hatchback was roomy – five people fit freely in it, and in just 14 seconds the car gained 100 km / h. It is thanks to this that the model has become popular and has taken its place in the global automotive industry.

Proton Satria – another brainchild of Proton became the basis for the creation of the Wira Cabrio cabriolet, the new model of which Impian (with that name – “a dream comes true” it came to the European market) became very significant for the manufacturing company, since it was almost completely developed independently by Malaysians.
Gradually, the company released new models and continued to develop its production with all its might, despite unfavorable economic conditions.
The 2005 Savvy 1.1 is an excellent example of the Proton brand, meeting environmental standards and safety standards.
