Nine news Lizzie Pearl makes very NSFW gaffe on air while reporting on AFL Grand Final

Nine News anchor Lizzie Pearl made a very awkward gaffe on air on Friday as she mispronounced ‘croc’ in a segment about the AFL Grand Final.

The broadcaster was speaking over clips from Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium where saltwater crocodile Pinjarra was given two pieces of lamb from keepers representing the Sydney Swans and Geelong, with the hope he would grab the meat from the winning team.

But when reading the statement Lizzie accidentally said the ‘750kg c**k only had eyes for the Swannies’.

Realising her mistake and laughing she went on: ‘This is a good omen for Sydney, lets see if she is right’.

Seeing the funny side, Lizzie later put the clip on Instagram writing: ‘I guess this is what you call a c**k up’

Finals fever has begun as footy fans descended on Melbourne’s Yarra River for this year’s history-making AFL grand final parade – but some angry fans have slammed the switch away from holding the event on the city’s streets.

The staple feature of footy’s biggest week usually moves through Melbourne’s city centre with players on the back of utes, but this year the Sydney Swans and Geelong Cats floated along the waterway affectionately known as the ‘upside-down river’ due to its muddy brown water.

The AFL scrapped the event in 2020 and 2021 when the grand final was played interstate due to Covid-19 lockdowns in Melbourne.

While Geelong will take on the Swans, stars will also be entertained by Robbie Williams who will lead a star-studded half-time show.

Joining the British icon will be Australian songstress Delta Goodrem, G Flip, Temper Trap, Goanna, and footy anthem troubadour Mike Brady.

Robbie confirmed the good news of his impending performance in July.

‘I am so excited to be performing for all the fans, on the hallowed turf of the MCG, for the biggest game of the year,’ he said in a statement.

‘I can’t wait to see you all on that last Saturday in September,’ the Let Me Entertain You hitmaker added.

Brian May reveals Taylor Hawkins’ widow Alison requested their wedding song at LA tribute show

A slew of musical luminaries came together in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening to pay tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, with Queen’s Brian May revealing a heartfelt request that was made.

The Los Angeles show – held at the Kia Forum – was actually the second tribute, with the first held in London, where May performed Queen’s 1975 hit Love Of My Life.

The 75-year-old guitarist revealed on stage at the event that he wasn’t originally planning on playing the song that night, until he got a message from Taylor’s widow, Alison Hawkins.

When May took the stage at the Kia Forum, he revealed why he decided to play this song to the audience.

‘I wasn’t going to sing this song tonight because we all decided this was a party, and this was a time to celebrate, right? Then something happened,’ May revealed.

‘I sang this song in Wembley (where the U.K. tribute was held) when we did this a couple weeks ago and it’s a song written by a young man called Freddie Mercury,’ May continued.

‘And I wasn’t going to do it, but then I got a message from Alison Hawkins,’ he said of Taylor’s widow.

‘And she said, “Brian, I want you to do this song. I want everybody to do this song for me. I want you to do it for me and Taylor because it was our song. It was played at our wedding. It was our wedding album,”‘ May explained.

He added that Alison, who married Hawkins in 2005, requested that May also, ‘get everybody to sing it as my gift to the love of my life.’

He then asked the crowd, ‘Shall we do it? Everybody needs to do it with me though, OK? If you don’t know the words you can hum, alright?’

After the emotional performance, Alison took to the stage with daughters Annabelle, 13, and Everleigh, 8, as she blew a kiss to the audience.

Love Of My Life was one of 50 songs performed during the six-hour tribute concert at the Kia Forum.

The full lineup for the concert included music legends such as Travis Barker, Joan Jett, Kesha, Lars Ulrich, Mark Ronson and many more.

There will also be a number of sons of rock legends with Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie Van Halen’s son) and more.

Taylor Hawkins passed away in a Bogota, Colombia hotel room in March, at just 50 years of age.

Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her one step-parenting regret with husband Brad Falchuk

Gwyneth Paltrow shared her one big regret in step-parenting her husband Brad Falchuk’s children in a new interview.

The 50-year-old actress shares 18-year-old daughter Apple and 16-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin, and she step-parents 18-year-old Isabella and 16-year-old Brody with her 51-year-old husband.

Both Paltrow and Falchuk opened up on the Goop Podcast, which was recorded just before her 50th birthday on Tuesday.

Paltrow and Falchuk tied the knot in 2018 after dating for four years, and while she had raised her own kids, she still had doubts about step-parenting.

‘There’s just no playbook for how to do it. I think there’s this like archetypal evil stepmother and this inference it’s going to be this fraught thing, so I came into it on tender hooks like, “Oh my gosh, you can only kind of do the wrong thing,”‘ she began.

She admitted that, ‘trepidation’ was her, ‘one regret,’ though at some point she found her voice and that, ‘shifted everything.’

‘However many years ago I was like, ‘F**k it, these are my kids. I love them. I’m not gonna like be scared to discipline them,”‘ Gwyneth shared.

‘If someone asked me for advice on it, I would just say from day one, just really treat them as your kid. I just wish I had done that earlier,’ Paltrow said.

Her husband Falchuk insisted that she is a, ‘spectacular stepmom’ to his children.

‘You have a relationship with them outside of me. They talk to you all the time, they come to you for advice all the time, they rely on you,’ Brad said.

She also praised her ex Chris Martin, calling him, ‘a great dad,’ while joking that he was, ‘a lot more fun’ than she is.

‘The great thing is I don’t have to be their dad. I don’t have to provide the things their dad provides for them,’ Brad added of Gwyneth’s kids.

‘He loves them and spends time with them and all that stuff. So, all I have to do is just be ‘dad’ when I’m the dad in the house,’ he added.

She also spoke about turning 40 a decade ago, adding, ‘When I was 40, I think I was really having a hard time turning 40.

‘I had a flip-out about physical aging. I went to this dermatologist in London and got like the worst Botox, like I pannicked,’ she said.

Kanye West shocks fans as he changes his Instagram profile picture to Kris Jenner after their feud

Kanye West on Wednesday took to Instagram with a surprise for more than 17.4 million followers – a headshot of his ex-mother-in-law Kris Jenner as his profile pic.

The 45-year-old musical artist posted to Instagram Stories his intent behind the post, saying it was done with the best of intentions. He said, ‘I POSTED KRIS WITH THOUGHTS OF PEACE AND RESPECT. LETS CHANGE THE NARRATIVE.’

West has had some acrimony in the past with Jenner, taking to social media to air his grievances with the entertainment mogul, 66, who is the mother of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, 41.

Earlier this month, he said he felt Jenner had coerced her two of her daughters, Kim and Kylie Jenner, 25, to pose for Playboy.

He posted an image of Kylie associate Victoria Villarroel, saying, ‘Don’t let Kris make you do Playboy like she made Kylie and Kim do.

‘Hollywood is a giant brothel. Pornography destroyed my family,’ said West, who shares four children with Kim: North, nine, and Chicago, four, and sons Saint, six, and Psalm, three.

He added: ‘I deal with the addiction [and] Instagram promotes it. Not gonna let it happen to Northy and Chicago.’

Jenner was upset about the jabs West took at her, as she feels she’s done ‘nothing but try to help’ him, sources told HollywoodLife.

‘Kris thought that Kanye was way out of line for what he said about her yesterday,’ one source told the site. ‘Kris has done nothing but try to help Kanye and mediate the tension between him and Kim. Kris is really hurt by his comments, and she let him know this.

‘Kris works so hard to make sure that everyone in her family is kept safe and she will defend her family however she can. But she knows that if she were to speak out and respond to Kanye that he would only escalate the situation and that is the last thing she wants, or needs, at this time. Kim is the mother of his kids and Kris thinks that needs to respect her and keep the kids out of it.’

A second source told the site that while Jenner was ‘completely shocked’ about West’s attack on her, she’s used to him bashing the family on social media and ‘doesn’t think he’ll ever truly change.’

The source said Kris ‘is bothered that he’s not only humiliating Kim and himself but bringing the children into it is unacceptable.’

West compared Jenner to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a July 2020 tweet in which he said, ‘They tried to fly in with 2 doctors to 51/50 me I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for “prison reform” I got 200 more to go. This my lady tweet of the night … Kris Jong-Un.’

Anna Paquin glows in a black dress with silver sequins at A Friend Of The Family premiere

Anna Paquin cut a stylish figure in a black dress as she made a grand entrance at the world premiere of her new limited series A Friend Of The Family on Wednesday evening.

The 40-year-old True Blood star flaunted her toned legs in the dress, which was enlivened with shimmering silver sequins, as she walked the red carpet at New York City’s Metrograph Theater.

She stars in the true-crime Peacock series Mary Ann Broberg, the mother of Jan Broberg, who was kidnapped — multiple times — by a family friend who had sexual relationship with both Jan’s mother and father.

Anna looked chic in her long-sleeve dress, which had a plunging V-shaped neckline with a small sheer panel over her cleavage.

The look was decorated with arrow-like arrangements of sequins over her waist the pointed toward her midriff.

She matched her look with her dark nail polish, and the True Blood star elevated her 5ft5in stature with classic black pumps.

She wore her brunette hair styled up to put the spotlight on her elegantly made-up face and her enormous tear drop–shaped jeweled earrings.

She was joined on the red carpet by her costar Jake Lacy, who stars in A Friend Of The Family as the eponymous sinister friend, who kidnaps her characters daughter even as he maintains sexual relationships with her and her husband.

The White Lotus star looked dapper in a double-breasted navy plaid suit, which he dressed down with a simple white shirt underneath.

Colin Hanks, who plays the father of the family, looked radically different with short buzzed hair, after he sported a balding head for the role.

He complemented Jake’s suit with his own gray plaid, though he opted for a single-breasted design.

AnnaSophia Robb, who doesn’t appear to be part of the production, looked cool and casual in a lustrous green leather jacket over a short black dress, which she paired with black platform boots.

Lio Tipton also favored a shining ensemble. They rocked a cool double-breasted gray suit with wide peaked lapels and baggy pants, along with a tie-free white shirt.

Austin Stowell, who plays an FBI agent investigating the kidnappings, wore a relaxed black blazer and dark blue jeans.

Hendrix Yancey shares the role of young Jan Broberg, while the older version of the character is played by McKenna Grace. Hendrix showed off her impressive style sense with a black graphic top with puffy tulle shoulders and black leather pants, along with sparkling shoes.

Rounding out the premiere was the real-life Jan Broberg, who went on to become an actress after her early life traumas.

She rocked a black blouse and matching slacks with a heart-shaped jeweled strand tied around her midriff, along with a purple patterned jacket.

A Friend Of The Family premieres on Peacock on October 6.

Kyle Sandilands defends Australian Idol against ‘lack of diversity’ backlash

Kyle Sandilands has addressed criticism of the new Australian Idol panel, after viewers slammed the talent show for hiring four white judges – including two American imports – and pair of white hosts.

The radio presenter, 51, who is returning as a judge and was involved in the casting process, spoke out on Thursday after former Idol contestant Emily Williams slammed Channel Seven for ‘whitewashing’ the franchise reboot.

Sandilands pushed back at the idea of diversity quotes and also revealed he’d spoken to several black artists, including 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, about joining the panel but they couldn’t do it due to scheduling conflicts.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, he went on to explain how producers cast the net wide to find the right judges and ‘had fingers in many pies’.

‘You can’t say, “One judge has got to be a non-binary black person.” That’s not how the real world works. And it shouldn’t,’ he added.

‘It should be whoever is worthy of doing it – gay, straight, black, white, non-binary, whatever – that’s not taken into consideration and it shouldn’t be.

‘That’s how we went wrong in the first place. That’s how hate started. “That guy, don’t hire him, he’s gay.” That’s how hate starts.’

Sandilands added that ‘hate will continue to grow’ if race and gender quotas are reinforced, and ‘humans should be treated like humans’.

His co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson agreed, saying viewers often don’t understand what goes into casting for a television show.

Williams, 37, who placed runner-up on the third season of Idol in 2005, was upset to learn the reboot had an all-white panel including Sandilands, Amy Shark, Harry Connick Jr. and Meghan Trainor – the latter two of whom are American – while also being hosted by Scott Tweedie and Ricki-Lee Coulter, who are both white as well.

‘I look at the four judges and I’m like, “Okay, here we go again, straight and narrow.” There’s no room for change. It’s 2022,’ she told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday.

The New Zealand-born singer added: ‘I was disappointed. Everybody is saying that it’s whitewashed. Absolutely, I agree. Does it look that way? Unfortunately it does. I thought at least one person would be gay or non-binary.’

Several viewers users agreed with her comments, with one taking to Twitter to write: ‘This is an epic and exciting opportunity to get judged by six white people. (To be fair there is some diversity, one has a hyphen in their name.)’

Another commented: ‘Channel Seven is very grateful for Meghan Trainor (American) being the token diversity hire for the Australian Idol reboot.’

‘Not sure why anyone is surprised about the Australian Idol judging panel – the other talent shows on our screens are just as bad. If they want diversity they always just have Mel B on,’ someone else tweeted.

Australian Idol will air on Channel Seven in 2023

New Australian Idol judge Meghan Trainor reveals she’s trying to get pregnant with TWINS

Newly announced Australian Idol judge Meghan Trainor has revealed she is trying to get pregnant with twins and could conceive them Down Under.

The Massachusetts-born pop star, 28, says she wants to have a large family with her husband Daryl Sabara.

‘I’m banking on twins, I want a farm. We’re in Australia for the whole of October and I’m trying to get pregnant at the same time,’ she said on Nova’s Smallzy’s Surgery.

The mother-of-one said hopefully it won’t be long until her fans notice a baby bump.

‘Hopefully on the second half of the trip, you’ll see a belly,’ Meghan said.

The Lip Are Movin’ hitmaker added she has been so focused on conceiving she turned down a Christmas tour.

It comes after Meghan experienced difficulties giving birth to her son Riley in February last year.

She said her newborn boy had trouble breathing and staying awake long enough to feed and had to be admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

After spending five days in the hospital, Riley was sent home – but for the first month of his life, Meghan was worried something bad was going to happen to him.

She said her pregnancy wasn’t easy either.

Meghan revealed she had gained ’15 COVID pounds’ beforehand and she felt ‘massive.’

Meghan was announced earlier this month as a judge in Seven’s upcoming Australian Idol reboot on which will screen in 2023.
