NCIS LA season 14 exposes Marty Deeks’ backstory as boss drops hint ‘It’s probably time’

Fans of the popular NCIS franchise have long been clamouring to find out more about LAPD liaison and newly appointed field agent Marty Deeks (played by Eric Christian Olsen). Although many other members of the NCIS: Los Angeles team have had whole episodes devoted to their backstory, Deeks still hasn’t had the chance, though that could be about to change when the CBS spin-off returns for its 14th season.

NCIS: LA showrunner Scott Gemmill has teased season 14 could finally feature the much-in-demand Deeks, M episode.

Throughout the show’s first 13 seasons, several core members of the team have had their origins revealed in special flashback episodes.

In the first season’s finale, Callen, G, started the tradition by focusing on team leader G Callen (Chris O’Donnell), whose whole backstory before joining the NCIS is still in the shadows.

However, despite becoming a fan-favourite member of the team, Deeks’ younger years have remained a mystery.

TV Line’s Matt Webb Mitovich has now confirmed: “As has become an annual tradition of sorts, I brought this question, again, to showrunner Scott Gemmill.

“This time he answered, ‘I think, actually, it’s probably time.

“‘I just have to make sure that Eric [Christian Olsen, who plays Deeks] doesn’t write it himself. He writes [an episode] usually once a year.’”

The latest update from showrunner Scott has thrilled many fans of the show, who are excited to finally learn more about the agent after well over a decade of speculation.

On Twitter, @kwanfan1212 exclaimed: “OMG, that long requested Deeks, M episode might be coming up on NCIS: LA this season!!”

@KRC1977 said: “Another season on #NCISLA, another teaser of the Deeks, M. episode happening this season. I’ll believe it when I see it lol!”

To which @cozmodog replied: “I hope we do finally get it. ECO should definitely be the one to write it.”

Instagram fan @wildemagi asked: “Who knows Deeks better than Mr Deeks himself?”

Although @debbiegnz suggested: “Oh and definitely Frank Military should write it. I always love his episodes.”

While @kathyfink65 simply replied with love heart and fire emojis and said: “About time.” (sic)

Frank Military has written and directed a number of episodes per season since the series began back in 2013.

He most recently helmed the penultimate episode of season 13, Down the Rabbit Hole.

The long-time writer has also made a guest appearance as David Kessler, a violent killer who has become a nemesis for Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah).

Kessler could make a return to make things difficult for Kensi and Deeks at some point this season.

With Frank still on-hand as both a writer and guest star, he could be the perfect man for the job to bring Deeks’ elusive origins to the screen.

Alternatively, Eric himself could be tasked to reveal his own character’s origins, as it still hasn’t been confirmed which episode he’ll be writing this year.

Even if the episode doesn’t come around this season, fans can at least take some encouragement from the showrunner that more conversations about Deeks, M are starting to be had.

All Creatures Great and Small actor jokes about ‘notoriously difficult’ Christmas co-star

The Christmas period wouldn’t be the same without a return to Darrowby to see what the residents of Skeldale House are getting up to. All Creatures Great and Small’s festive episode takes place at the start of the Second World War with everyone waiting to see if any of the main characters will have to go to off to fight. The Channel 5 episode is also going to see James Herriot (played by Nicholas Ralph) and the rest of his loved ones welcome Jewish evacuee Eva (Ella Bernstein) into their home.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from All Creatures Great and Small. With Christmas around the corner and Eva so far away from her home and her family, those at Skeldale House are more than happy to try and make the day as special as it can be.

While talking to press including Express.co.uk about Eva in this episode, James Herriot actor Nicholas Ralph said: “You see how everyone tries their best to welcome her in and have her settle down and things like that.

“I think James and Helen take a real interest in helping her out and Mrs Pumphrey has an issue with a cat and kitten so we take her out.

“James thinks that’s the perfect job for little Eva to come out and be assistant to what’s happening with this kitten.”

But it wasn’t young actress Ella Bernstein who Ralph struggled to work with onset, but rather the older cat in a scene at Pumphrey Manor.

He continued: “So I think the kitten was fine, it maybe scurried off once or twice but apart from that, fine.

“It was the older cat Jasper, I don’t know what was going on.

“I don’t know if it was my aftershave or something but this cat would not sit next to me.”

Ralph added: “It was just careering off every other way and it’s supposed to be tired and knackered from looking after this kitten and he was like crazy, just running around.

“Yeah, (the) cat was notoriously difficult but the kitten was very sweet and lovely but don’t know what was up with Jasper, she wasn’t having a good time.”

Elsewhere in Darrowby, Siegfried (Samuel West) is asked to pay a visit to an injured horse just before a big race when he makes an important discovery.

It is thanks to this new information that Siegfried risks compromising everything that he stands for and his brother Tristan (Callum Woodhouse) becomes his biggest obstacle.

Meanwhile, Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) runs into Gerald (Will Thorp) at the market who informs her of something she wasn’t expecting.

As a result, she finds herself inviting Gerald to an impromptu Christmas party at Skeldale House.

But will he come to the party and if so, is Mrs Hall going to pluck up the courage to tell Gerald how she really feels?

Channel 5 viewers are just going to have to wait until the festive episode airs.

All Creatures Great and Small’s Christmas episode is going to air on Friday, December 23, at 9pm.

This will be the final episode of the year but fear not, as there will be more to come.

It has already been confirmed there is going to be a fourth series on the way but it is unlikely to return until late 2023.

All Creatures Great and Small’s Christmas special airs on Friday, December 23, at 9pm on Channel 5.

Aquaman star Jason Momoa rumored to play DC Comics hero Lobo

Buried within an explosive report that reveals Wonder Woman 3 is dead at Warner Bros.’ DC Studios is a rumor that Aquaman star Jason Momoa may be eyed to play Lobo.

The 43-year-old actor will star in the upcoming sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, arriving in theaters December 25, 2023, though The Hollywood Reporter claims that could be the last movie produced by the outgoing DC Studios regime.

The report claims that the Lobo character has been mentioned in connection with Momoa and the character is said to be the kind of character new DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are focusing on.

Gunn and Safran shocked the movie world in late October when they were announced to replace the departing Walter Hamada as heads of DC Studios.

They both took over on November 1, with the new report on Wednesday revealing they were in Aspen putting together their plans for the studio over the next five years and beyond, which did not include Wonder Woman 3, which had been in development since late December 2020.

They are expected to meet with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav next week to pitch their plan, which is rumored to dismantle the ‘Snyderverse’ – the heroes put together by director Zack Snyder in his Justice League movie.

While those plans are not yet set in stone, it’s rumored they will not involve sequels to Black Adam or Man of Steel, with Gunn and Safran reportedly focusing on different kids of DC characters like Lobo.

Lobo was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, first appearing in Omega Man #3 in June 1983, with Giffen stating in an interview that he was created as a satire of Wolverine and the Punisher hero prototypes.

The cigar-chomping anti-hero works as a bounty hunter who possesses superhuman strength, endurance and healing abilities.

If a Lobo movie does in fact head into production, it will be the first time the character would be featured on the big screen, though Lobo did appear in several animated shows and the live-action series Krypton, played by Emmett J. Scanlan.

There had been a Lobo movie in development in the past, with director Guy Ritchie attached to direct way back in 2009, though he left to direct Sherlock Holmes 2.

Brad Peyton (Rampage) was attached to write and direct in 2012, with Dwayne Johnson in talks to play the title character, before he left to play Black Adam.

Michael Bay was reportedly circling the project back in 2018 after the success of the R-rated Deadpool, though it never materialized.

Momoa will next be seen in Fast X as Dante and he is attached to star in a remake of Sylvester Stallone’s Cliffhanger.

He is also attached to a the Minecraft movie.

Love Island Australia’s Amelia Marni reveals details about new romance after split with Josh Moss

Love Island star Amelia Marni has revealed details about her new romance with a mystery man following her recent split with ex-boyfriend Josh Moss in May.

In her new podcast Chicks Unhinged, the 26-year-old confirmed the pair are now ‘exclusive’.

‘I’ve been in this relationship for a few months now, but I haven’t actually spoken about it,’ she said.

‘Now we’re definitely exclusives, we’re in a relationship – mummy has a new boyfriend’.

She also hit back at criticism about how quickly she had moved on from Josh.

While Amelia admitted it was fast, she said she was confident she was ready to find love again.

‘A lot of people have put their two cents in, but I’m not really bothered what people think. If people who genuinely know me are happy for me, I don’t really care what other people think anyway,’ she said.

Earlier this year, she responded to an online troll after she had posted photos on Instagram from her trip to Jervis Bay with her new boyfriend, whose name she has not revealed on social media.

While the post was given a lot of positivity from followers, one person pointed out how Amelia hadn’t wasted any time finding a replacement for her ex.

Amelia and Josh, who met on Love Island Australia in 2018, announced their split in May.

The influencer, 26, said in a YouTube video she ‘chose herself over love’ by ending their relationship after four years.

Amelia fought back tears as she revealed how she and Josh tried counselling to make things work, before she ultimately decided to end things.

‘The little girl that first went into the relationship is so different to now,’ Amelia said.

‘I’m shocked I’m crying. I haven’t cried since we broke up, which was two months ago, but the main lesson is: if something doesn’t feel right or you’re putting your values aside, there are some non-negotiables you need,’ she explained.

Amelia said they split up because they are just ‘very different people’.

‘I don’t know if this comes as a shock because I think we portrayed a happy healthy relationship. And it was that for most of the part, but there was also a lot of challenging moments we didn’t share,’ Amelia said at the time.

‘No relationship is perfect but there are some parts you have to see eye to eye.’

Paris Hilton says she and husband Carter Reum have ‘eggs stocked and ready’ for IVF process

Paris Hilton said that she and husband Carter Reum have ‘eggs stocked and ready’ for a future IVF process.

The socialite, 41, spoke Wednesday with People at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala, telling the outlet that she and Reum, 41, began preparing for the IVF process during the coronavirus pandemic shutdown.

‘We started going and doing it like a few months in because the world was shut down,’ the hotel heiress told the magazine. ‘We knew we wanted to start a family, and I was like, “This is perfect timing. Usually I’m on a plane 250 days out of the year, and let’s just get all of the eggs stocked and ready,” and we have tons of them just waiting.’

The This Is Paris star said she and Reum – a venture capitalist who has a daughter with reality star Laura Bellizzi – wanted to ‘enjoy’ their ‘first year of marriage together as a couple, you know, before bringing kids into the mix.’

The couple, who wed in November of 2021, enjoyed an anniversary getaway at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, which is on a private island.

The Stars Are Blind singer said that ‘now that we just had our year anniversary, [she] can’t wait for 2023.’

Hilton said that she was ‘just so happy’ after the first year of the marriage, describing her spouse as kind, loyal, sweet, funny and brilliant.

‘He’s just my perfect person, and I just adore him so much,’ she said. ‘He just makes me feel like a princess every single day, and I’m so excited for our family starting next year.’

Hilton’s wedding at a private estate in Los Angeles was attended by notable names including her aunt Kyle Richards, Kim Kardashian, Paula Abdul, Demi Lovato and Kimora Lee Simmons. The wedding was filmed for Paris in Love, a 13-episode Peacock docuseries about the romance.

The couple initially began dating in November of 2019 and were spotted publicly with one another at a Golden Globes bash in January of 2020. They announced their engagement in February of 2021.

Hilton, appearing on The Bellas podcast this past April, said she and her spouse have ‘been talking about kids since the beginning’ of their relationship.

Hilton said she thinks being a parent ‘would be amazing’ and that she would prefer to have ‘three or four’ children in time.

‘I would like a twin boy and girl just to, like, get both, but whatever happens happens,’ Hilton said. ‘But I would love that or twin girls because I love girls.’

Alexandra Daddario goes suitably Gothic chic in dark lipstick at premiere of Mayfair Witches

Alexandra Daddario was suitably Gothic chic at Wednesday’s star-studded premiere of her upcoming show Mayfair Witches.

The program is based on a novel series by the late fantasy-horror novelist Anne Rice, whose books included Interview With The Vampire.

In aid of her new series, Alexandra decked herself out in an eerie look that included a bedazzled choker and a shade of purple lipstick so dark it verged on black.

Mayfair Witches stars Alexandra as a surgeon who discovers to her shock that she is descended from a coven of witches whose powers she has inherited.

The smoldering heartthrob Jack Huston, who comes from the same family as John and Anjelica Huston, co-stars as a shapeshifter who is ‘bound’ to the coven.

Her opulent premiere dress featured sheer black corsetry trimmed with matching lace, complementing the bordering around her hem.

Alexandra’s billowing skirts were color-blocked in black and gleaming gold, lending the frock a luxuriously 18th century feel.

The sizzling ensemble fell tantalizingly off the shoulder to betray a trace of cleavage as she walked the red carpet.

She cinched a throwback chic belt with a massive buckle around the ensemble, emphasizing her impressively trim waistline.

Sharpening her screen siren features with strikingly dark makeup, the White Lotus actress swept her raven locks back into a low bun.

While swanning about the premiere, the former teen actress got in a bit of posing with her beaming mother Christina Daddario.

One of the other actors on Mayfair Witches is Harry Hamlin, who attended the premiere on the arm of his wife, Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills Lisa Rinna.

Lisa was on-theme in head-to-toe black, encasing her sensationally svelte figure in a skintight ankle-length gown and accessorizing with massive shades.

Her daughter Amelia, 21, who hit the headlines for dating Scott Disick when she was 19 and he was 37, also made her presence felt at the fete.

Lisa’s eldest daughter Delilah, 24, who like Amelia has gone into the modeling business, opted for biker chic in a boxy leather jacket and matching trousers.

Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant glowed in aquamarine while Queer Eye For The Straight Guy alum Jai Rodriguez was dashing as ever in tartan trousers.

Fame alum Erica Gimpel, who has a recurring role on Mayfair Witches, brought a touch of old-school glitz to the look in a purple sequined blazer.

Antebellum actor Tongayi Chirisa and Mystic Pizza actress Annabeth Gish, who are also in the cast, gathered for a group shot with Alexandra and Harry.

Also known by the title Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, the show will air its season premiere January 8 on both AMC and its streamer AMC+.

Bachelorette star Ciarran Stott reveals his next career move

Ciarran Stott wants to appear on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and SAS Australia.

The Bachelorette star, 28, spoke to Yahoo this week and admitted he’d also like to get his girlfriend Ruby Burciaga on a reality show too.

‘I wouldn’t mind getting Ruby on a TV show,’ he told the publication. ‘Get us on or something, we’d be great on that!’

Despite making his mark on dating shows, Ciarran said that he enjoyed the physicality of The Challenge – the latest show he starred on.

‘I just thought it would be fun to give something a crack that’s not a dating show,’ he added.

‘Something where you get to do physical challenges and see what you can do.’

Ciarran finished by saying he never really watches himself on TV, adding he found himself a bit cringe on screen.

It comes just days after he got Ruby’s name tattooed on his stomach at the Tattoo Expo in Melbourne.

Ciarran was pictured lying down on a bed while the tattoo artist wrote the name on his stomach.

Last month, Ruby spoke out after it was revealed that the Bachelor In Paradise love rat cheated on her with another woman while filming The Challenge.

Ruby posted to Instagram to thank her followers for reaching out and said that the last few months have been ‘incredibly tough’.

A recent episode of the Channel 10 reality series saw Ciarran ‘fool around’ with Love Island stunner Audrey Kanongara in the shower.

‘I just wanted to thank everyone for your messages and support the last few days,’ she wrote,’ Ruby wrote.

‘It’s been an incredibly tough couple of months and not something I ever imagined I’d go through especially so publicly,’ she continued.

Showbiz NCIS LA season 14 exposes Marty Deeks’ backstory as boss drops hint ‘It’s probably time’
