Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum has shared her first photo with her new granddaughter Bella Esmeralda.
Dolores Aveiro proudly posted a photo with the two-month-old cuddled up in her arms after she flew to Majorca for a reunion with her footballer son at his family holiday home.
Cristiano and his partner Georgina Rodriguez welcomed their daughter in April at a Manchester hospital. Tragically, Bella’s twin brother died at birth, with Georgina posting a tribute to her child on her own Instagram account this week.
Dolores, who boasts 2.7m Instagram followers, wrote alongside her photo with Bella: ‘Netinha querida da avó’ which translates as ‘Grandmother’s dear granddaughter’.
Fans flocked to Dolores Instagram to praise the grandmother’s photo, with many pointing out the baby girl’s likeness to big sister Alana Martina. One said: ‘She’s identical to Alana.’
Another added: ‘She’s similar to her sister Alana. Congratulations.’ Cristiano’s Brazilian-based sister Katia Aveiro wrote on Dolores’ Instagram alongside the snap: ‘My loves’ followed by heart emoticons.
And the Man United striker’s other sister Elma said in a similar message: ‘My God. What a beautiful little thing.’
Dolores posted the picture a day after Georgina remembered Bella Esmeralda’s twin brother with an Instagram Story photo showing a sky with emojis of an angel and a red heart.
In October 2021 Cristiano and Georgina revealed they were expecting twins but tragically their son died at birth on April 18, but their daughter survived.
Following the devastating stillbirth, the couple and their other children returned home with their newborn daughter, days after the footballer confirmed his partner had lost the child’s twin brother.
Cristiano shared a social media update shortly after their baby girl made the journey back from hospital following her birth.
Posting a photo for his 430million followers, Ronaldo cradled his daughter while accompanied by Spanish partner Georgina and their four children.
Captioning the post, he wrote: ‘Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.
‘Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family. Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world.’
Cristiano’s holiday with his five children, Alana Martina, four, five-years-old twins Eva and Mateo and Cristiano Jr who has just turned 12, and Georgina, 28, is the family’s first since they announced the tragic death on April 18.
The couple are expected to leave their Majorcan holiday home, which has its own volleyball court and a mini-football pitch and sits at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, in the next couple of days.

The footballing legend, 37, took a rare break from training to share a touching tribute to his son Cristiano Jr. on his birthday.
Ronaldo’s oldest son posed in front of a large sports-themed cake which had the pattern of white hexagons on in the style of a football on and a red soccer shirt with the number seven to represent his father’s place in the Portugal national football team.
Currently the birthday boy is a shining light at Manchester United’s academy, recreating his father’s partnership with Wayne Rooney’s son, Kai.
